sickest action I've ever seen in my 15-30 live game, donkeys were laggin it up to the max, raising J2 sooted from the sb after 5 limpers, 3-betting 64 sooted, calling 4 cold with 104 sooted
I proceeded to set yet another record: -25bb in <1hr this one hand where I had kings and this other dude had aces I laughed my ass off, afterwards he was like: why are you betting the turn, you know they're not folding and I was like, why didn't you ff'n raise my turn bet? (I was CO, he was BTN, aces were clearly still the nuts on the turn), it really pushed him over the edge, I obv folded to a rivered flush anyways, floor decided to open up a 25-50 game, which is rare, and I was like hellz yeah, bc there were lots of donkeys sitting in, of course I couldn't hit $hit, did make a nice straight flush tho (smallish pot), which was 1 of 2 draws that came in, luckily the game got short handed pretty quick, which was extra fun bc the donkeys were stupid passive, limping in premiums, open limping otb, so I managed to get some back, even tho I got a couple cold decks, finished the 25-50 session break even, which still sucked balls, but the way I'm running, it actually aint that bad, ds currently at 550bb, 14 straight losses had one big downer early in the session tho, raised pot with 5 in, I mucked 43o on the bb, with which I obv would have flopped the nut straight, which obv would have been the nuts, in obv the biggest pot of the entire evening, 20-25ish bb side note: with 5 players in raised pot: who would have made the call with 43o from the bb? (I'm folding it all day, am I wrong?) anyways, I had a good time regardless, table was fun, and when I was driving back I had another good laugh when I thought about this thread I was reading earlier: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...e=0&fpart=1 hilarious |

It seems yesterday's tiny $1800 winning session was just a bit of variance to be surrounded by plenty of big losses. -$4k in 40 today, continuing the tradition of winning no pots. I honestly only remember winning 1 showdown. It was probably more than that, but I can only remember 1 of them. Game was fullish most the night until the end when it was 4 handed with Mike L, Tricky Dave, Son and me. The other two guys we were playing with are just horrific players, so nothing brought me greater joy than to see them add chips to their stacks from Mike's while he took a double helping from me to make up for it. Overall I was pretty pleased with how I played with 1 exception in the 4 handed game where I ended up bluffing the river after the turn checked through and just mucked my hand when I got called because I was so embarassed at how bad I played it. There was one against Mike where I had AQ vs his AJ on an AK9 where I played it real soft but I thought it was good because I was pretty sure he'd fold a worse A if I put more pressure on. Of course the river was a 9 and we chopped but I still like how I played it.

Commerce 20 Part 1.
I had never played the Commerce 20 game before, only the 9/18 the few times that I have been of age and moved up to 20/40 a few months ago while up at school. Coming back home to LA, it was finally time to play with the big bad 2p2ers I had read about. My original plan was to hold out my 2p2 status for as long as possible for obvious image reasons. I went there in the afternoon and was surrounded by LAGgy asians, bad players, all non 2p2ers. It was great! Specifically, there was one mid-aged lady in a black shawl that vexed me greatly. She asked for setup in her annoying, mousey voice, to which the dealer responded "Come again?" because she didn't hear her. duh. Lady snaps back with something like "You heard me. Hmmmph!" For the entire setup period, I stared at her. Menacingly. She didn't notice until the second deck was being shuffled, but looked at me and glanced away. She left up a couple racks. As the night sank in, the bad players all begin to leave as I was about an hour from packing it in for the day. This young, attractive girl carrying this LV bag sits in seat 1, gets up and walks around. Then a conspicuous guy gets seated to my right and she starts to sweat him for a few hands. At this point my read is "Obviously, she's not a serious player". Thought about sticking around a little longer with a potential passive at the table. Thinking he's a hotshot or trying to impress her or something, he has the audacity to 3-bet KQs OTB to a CO raise. He drags the pot, she takes her seat again and starts playing. I make some off-hand comment about how everytime I have a girl sweat me, I lose and feel embarrassed. They laugh. A few more hands progress and it becomes clear to me that both of our newcomers are that which we dub "TAG". Time to pack up. I go to find some racks. When I come back the guy asks if me why I'm leaving. I responsd "You know that I know that this game dried up when you guys came." He says "I know that, but I don't know that you know that." I tell him to give me a little more credit. He half-dodges/half-answers by saying "You 2 plus 2?" I respond "sup bro" and he says he doesn't know what that means. At this point, I'm thinking in BBV4L terms(BAN PLZ). We chat a little and asks me if I'm Sailboat. I'm not. I tell him who I am and he tells me he's privatejoker. Cliff Notes: I met PJ. |

ProfessorBen -- You forgot to report the speech you gave right as you were racking up, that tipped me off you were 2+2. You leaned over to me and said "OK seat 5 plays straight forward and too passively preflop, seat 1 is weak-tight, etc.... blah blah" and I'm like, OK why is this guy giving me perfect reads on the table as he is leaving? Cue lightbulb, etc. |

heh too funny... professorBen you sure this was the first time playing the 20/40? I thought we played like last week. Where you seated in seat 1 and PJ was sitting in seat 9 with his GF sweating him, trying not to be "that guy." Seat 5 was a chick right, shes used to play stud, but now plays holdem and almost NEVER bluffs, its great.
Sidenote: I always thought PJ was black because of his avatar haha Anyway i was at a different table, but i wanted to T/C to that table because it looked really good. |
