No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

I don't believe you. Is this some sick attempt to get ZeeJustin to come to your house and show you his mad SnG Skillz in exchange for you publically defending him?

Sad.

Do you really believe that? I said I've never even met the guy. Enough with conspiracy theories.

I thought it was obvious the witches thing was a joke. . . I am just saying it is a horrible analogy designed to add hyperbole into a discussion that already has quite enough of that. His $137k score is as kosher as any you have had. It may annoy you, but it doesn't change the facts.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but the witches thing was an analogy, and you bitched at me for using an analogy (your quote: "why use an analogy at all."). So that irritated me.

I didn't say that ZeeJustin was a murderer, or even that he was like a murderer. I didn't compare ZeeJustin to a murderer at all.

I said that:

Murder and attempted murder: intention is the same
cheating and busting out six times vs. cheating and winning the whole thing: intention is the same

Or, to frame it as an SAT question:

"Attempted murder" is to "murder" AS "cheating and losing" is to "cheating and winning."

His 137k win doesn't annoy me. And if they confiscated his legitimate winnings along with his illegimate winnings, that wouldn't annoy me either. He cheated, and whether he won or lost when he cheated is irrelevant.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why settle for murder? Why not make an analogy with the holocaust? That should really drive your point through.

And since it probably wasn't obvious enough, the witches thing isn't making fun of ZeeJustin. It is making fun of you.

I think he is joking.... Indy, there is nothing wrong with throwing your opinion out there, even if it is controversial. However, you have to expect that people are going to flame your argument. Don't think of it as a personal attack

Fair point. I'm getting a little defensive because I know I have a good point but I've done a really crappy job of making it.

[/ QUOTE ] So you are comparing people who post a response saying that ZeeJustin should have his money taken with people who burned witches at the stake. And then you attack my post by saying I shouldn't use an analogy.

So do you see the inconsistency here? Or are you just a [censored] idiot?

He won $137k in a Stars tourney he entered with only one account. I'm all for burning witches, but we should make sure they are indeed made of wood first.

[/ QUOTE ]

Then we should see if they weigh as much as a duck.

I don’t know what the fuss is about, as ZJ said, “It’s just a flesh wound!”

Indiana,

Kid immersed himself in a lifestyle and was friends w/ a number of people who did very shady things. Probably in large part due to that, he ended up taking some very unethical actions purely due to greed. We have no idea how far his cheating went, but it would be very naive to think that it stopped at multi-accounting MTTs. His life is far from ruined. He's a healthy young white kid in LA with more money than most anyone his age. This incident is a chance for him to reevaulate some of his priorities in life and consider what kind of person he wants to be. Perhaps we'll see a new statement from him once he gives this some thought, or maybe he's too far down the path of a criminal life. I hope not, though. Far from ruining his life, this could be the best thing that ever happens to him. As for the action from poker sites, all I'll do is commend Party for taking a harsh stance against cheaters and request Stars take a stance to make their site a less profitable place for cheaters to play.

Yo that's deep. Hey diablo, I don't know him so I don't get it when people say he consorted with shady types and such. Is this a known fact or just speculation?

The phrase witchhunt exist in our days and doesn't neccessarily mean burning people. But if you think everyone here has reacted in a calm and rational way, thats your preogative.

Sticks and stones, yadayadayada.

I am dissapointed you didn't take my holocaust tip seriously. You could make a killer (no pun intended) analogy with that, you know.
