biloxi is a 300max or uncapped b uy-in 1-2 no limit. if jckc does a 100 max 1-2 no-limit with a $1 jackpot drop plus a $6/half hour time charge then i really doubt it could be beat.

Please don't tell me Florida cardrooms are going to screw this up and charge a time charge!?

Like I said, they will probably find one way or another to screw things up.

im gonna maybe move to FL and play there, but i sure dont have the money for $1-2 NL i get ssi. what excites me is i can now play $1-5 stud instead of $1-2 stud, meaning i can protect my hand alot better. i miss that game, it was my road game for years. and i damn sure dont wanna pay a time charge instead of a rake, nor do i wanna pay an ante, i like to sit there all day to win $40-50 and fold everything except the low card.

Well, the time charge isn't required. And, where I live I have three cardrooms within a short drive (and 4 in season), so we'll have competition.

Rest assured that they are going to chop out as much as they think they can get away with.

So we'll see, but I'm not going to complain about it until I see it.

Hopefully competition will take over....and provide incentives for the players.

This is our only hope, but the bottom line will dictate that. Gulfstream has already had cashflow problems from their slots, and so you'd think they'd want to cater to the poker customer a little better than the others, but if they're only going to make a few extra thousand, or even tens of thousands, then they won't do it.

The war is between the non-Indian rooms and the Indian casinos. The Indian casinos are apparently going to lunge for Class III gaming as soon as this bill is signed. Once they get the ball rolling on that, it's just a matter of time until they get full casino games at their properties.

Which may be enough for Crist to shoot down this bill.

My logic: If this gets signed, it sends a clear message that Florida is loosening up their rules on gaming. The Indians won't sit there and let competition build -- they'll force Crist's hand and either make him negotiate, or they'll take it to the feds and then Florida gets nothing.

Whereas, if Crist doesn't sign it, then the Indians will still hold their advantages over the frontons and racetracks. They won't have AS strong of a motive to improve their gaming choices.

Now, Crist may know this and thusly will veto the bill. OTOH, he may sign it knowing that the Indians will come knocking, and he'll accept that and their wishes since it will boost state revenue. It's hard to ignore the income state governments have received from allowing gaming in their state, and Florida -- Disney or no Disney -- can get in on that action on behalf of their residents.

Hope we get the good news this week.

I don't follow your logic. The cat's already out of the bag, as Broward County parimutuels now have Class III slot machines. I don't see how the poker room bill has any affect one way or the other on the negotiations with the Seminoles.

This bill has nothing to do with the Seminoles being permitted to host Class III gaming. As has been said numerous times, they are governed by a federal board and there's nothing the state can say for or against this judgement. The Seminoles live on sovereign federal land and are not governed by the state of Florida in any way shape or form. The only reason Crist entered into these negotiations is because he couldn't stop them from getting approval and it would look awful for him to pass up the opportunity for the state to benefit from the revenues. The alternative was that Crist refuses to negotiate, the federal board rules in favor of the Seminoles (which is expected by a landslide) and the state misses out on the revenue completely while the federal agency, the Dept of the Interior, would benefit instead.

The Chief of the tribe was a wanted man in the state for a year and a half and no agency was allowed to invade Seminole land to arrest him. They waited more than a year to catch him off of Seminole land and arrest him.

Sounds like the most profitable game might be 2/5 limit since we can definitely make those idiot gutshot chasers pay dearly on the turn and river. Say the pot is $30 (which would be very loose) at the turn and the person to your right bets, you raise and offer only 4:1 odds there. They need 10 outs to make it profitable.
Also a 1-5 spread limit game should be very profitable but I dont think you could keep the table full with weak players. What do you guys think?
