[ QUOTE ] All - After my short stay at nl100 and 200, I'm dropping back to nl50. I'm not a good player at the moment. [/ QUOTE ] thac, could you share some more details? Sorry, I know it's probably painful, but it might help rest of us out. Especially, how you were running at 50 before moving up (# of hands & wr). Cheers. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure the amount of hands, but I ran around 5.5 bb/100 in March at nl50 (20k hands?) The beginning of April was pretty cool, I was at like 5 bb/100 for the first 2 weeks at nl100, and moved up to nl200 one night. Won a few buyins, and then had a -7.5 buyin session in like 1200 hands. I've forgotten how to win after that. |

What makes 100nl harder:
a. The money is starting to become real (100 bucks is a lot of money) b. It flows easier and faster c. There are more aggro players there that require adjustments My suggestion to moving up is always to nit up (set mine esstentially) FR tables to adjust yourslef to the avg pot size and work from there. |

I'm looking forward to June...I may be moving to either Orlando or San Diego at the end of the month for work(I love having choices like that ). WHAT SAY YOU? Orlando or San Diego? WHAT IT DO?!?!?! [/ QUOTE ] Sunny San Diego. Plus from what I've experienced better casinos too. |

[/ QUOTE ] True, but you also have to accept that nitting up 100nl is nowhere as profitable as 50nl and below because there are so many more players who will exploit you and are less exploitable themselves. What this basically means is that 100nl is where you have to start seeing the chips as chips and NOT money, because timid play will get you raped whereas putting constant pressure on your opponents will get you paid. You can't pressure your opponents if you freeze up every time you need to make dicey turn/river bets when you deem them to be +EV. |

I'm pretty sure that people having trouble moving from $50nl to $100nl just have to learn to deal with the swings properly. Every time you move up, the swings become more than double the previous level due to better players on average and double the stakes.
If you are consistently beating $50nl, you shouldn't have too much trouble at $100nl. Ask me whatever questions you want about $100nl and the transition from $50nl. I've been there too. Some encouragement: $100nl since April 1st...

tick,
how many tables did you start with and what was your br when you started? also, how many hands did you play below 50nl and what was your winrate? this doesnt include your 600nl madness either |

ama0330, players at $100nl are better on average, but not good enough to "exploit" you for being nitty. They don't exploit. They aren't very good compared to winning players. When I sit at a table, I assume everyone is a moron, until proven otherwise, and you should too.
BUT I do agree about not playing timid. That's a recipe to get run over and lose. |
