I just read this thread.
My favorite bit is probably Bill Russell never once in his career blocking a shot out of bounds in his career. Assani, Sabonis may very well have been incredible, but it requires pretty big reaches and speculation/romanticization to put him anywhere close to where you ranked him. When you compared the Suns to the Spurs earlier in the thread, you need to include Duncan in the analysis or eliminate the Suns best player. Otherwise all you are proving is that the Suns> Duncanless Spurs. I think KG, Duncan is very close, per 40 stats are pretty poor because it works there isn't a linear relationship between minutes played and points scored. The fact that KG is durable is one of the best arguments you can make for him. Ultimately I think Duncan is better because he is a better defender. |

[ QUOTE ]
Assani, how do you feel about PER? [/ QUOTE ] he thinks it, along with championships won and quality of supporting cast are the most important things in rating how great a player is. Unless we're talking about Nash (low PER, no rings, great supporting cast) - then none of those things matter. |
