Fly,

It was still a better than average year. He had a PER near 21 or 22.. it wasn't amazing or anything, but it's not like he sucked that year.

[/ QUOTE ]

He was also 1st Team All-Defense. Not saying he's THAT player or anything...it was obviously just a case of being a contract year. His stats in Cleveland match up exactly with his stats in his three years before the contract year in Washington, so we know what kind of player he is now.

Having just been through a series involving the Spurs I find it impossible to hate on Jazz fans. In fact I think our bond has strengthened.

The Nba runs only 8 months out of 12, extend it a month and make sure teams have time to recuperate after long voyages. Everything has a solution.

[/ QUOTE ]

It would be financial suicide. People already complain the season is too long, playoffs especially. Ratings would go even further down.

Christ WTF with Man-goo f'in Jablowme and the effing Spurs? They draw contact on the other team and get calls to go their way all the time. That Fisher technical was just incredibly ridiculous. It's so bad it's like someone in NBA HQ is on the take.

Went golfing this afternoon, lamented with a friend of mine the sorry state of these NBA playoffs. We also play basketball together, he played in college and neither of us give a crap anymore. Worse, the consensus is that after the Suns-Spurs debacle we would both be very interested if at least the Mavericks were still around, seeing as they were the Alpha Dogs all regular season and a generally likable team. Nothing against Utah, they're good and all, but they're sort of one-offs, and then you have a despicable team (Spurs), awful team (Cavs), and boring team (Pistons). Ugh.

[/ QUOTE ]

Spot on imo, but Finals should (hopefully) be good basketball.

The first one, it looked like Ginobili initiated the contact and then flopped. It was barely a bump either way, and I don't think even Ginobili deserved a T for it

live and on the first replay i thought it was a weak call also. But they slowed it down and showed it from a different camera angle, and these things definately happened:

1. Fisher looks back, directly at Ginobli, and waits to see where he's going
2. Fisher turns and jogs downcourt diagonally, so that he'll collide with Ginobli
3. they collide. Ginobli recoils the other way from the impact. Fisher doesn't budge
4. a half second (quarter second? whatever, it's noticable) later, Fisher also "recoils" from the collision.

words like "collision" and "impact" might be overboard, it wasn't exactly a bone-jarring hit. But it was very clear what Fisher's intent was.

The first one was definitely initiated by Fisher, though I didn't think it was all that T worthy.
