there aren't withdrawel symptons for quitting weed. i used to quit all the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

i had some pretty bad withdrawals in the first couple of weeks...

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't call it withdrawals but I do see a marked change in my appetite and sleeping cycle when I stop smoking. I also see a shift in my mental functioning and an increase in my analytical abilities. I've stopped smoking on multiple occasions after smoking weed for years and had few problems. It is very rare to develop a physical addiction to marijuana.

A few things

Quitting isn't a big deal for most, but some people have a really hard time w/ it.

There are withdrawal symptoms, they are just minor such as irritability and having a hard time falling asleep. They are NOT physical withdrawals like caffeine, coke, heroine, etc... they are psychological.

[ QUOTE ]
Tell that to the 150,000+ people that enter rehab each year for marijuana addiction.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a dumb statistic w/ no source. Get real. Alcoholism is a much more prolific addiction and actually causes problems.

i know it can kill brain cells

[/ QUOTE ]

Really, do you feel them dying? Your brain has canabanoid receptors built in. THC interacts with these receptors. Brain cells are not killed. It's an urban legend/old wives tale started in the 30's.

Smoking anything can kill brain cells because you are inhaling smoke and not oxygen. That being said, I'm sure it is insignificant compared to the # killed by alcohol

Right, you kill as many braincells as you would smoking a cig, or camping around a bonfire, it's negligible. But, canabanoid receptors do impede with the short term memory transition to long term memory, hence the short term memory loss. My point is killing brain cells is not an argument for why pot is bad for you.

every time i've quit it's been extremely easy. a couple times were just after i hadn't smoked for a few days/week and end up just not smoking for a month. this year at college at least first semester was very hard because my roommate was moving close to a lb of dank every week, so free high quality weed 24/7 and everyone around me was smoking too. i had to stop for lacrosse but i am pretty f'n excited to get home this summer and burn multiple blunts a day with my boys.

FWIW, using smoking weed as an exscuse for being lazy, not doing anything, etc, is purely bs. I will often smoke weed and then play bball/go down to the turf field and be extremely active for hours.

aye yo, i'm quitting weed again, been clean since last monday. have done it before for as long as 8 months...to everyone saying there is no physical addiction I disagree, every time I have gone off weed I have had difficulty sleeping due to nightsweats, basically waking up middle of the night drenched for 3 nights straight.. I've been expecting the same thing since monday but oddly enough this time I haven't had any nightsweats. so maybe it's not physically addicting, i don't know. yeah i know i just contradicted myself

Yeah, there are definitely some physical symptoms. For the first week and half or so, I had very little appetite, and couldnt sleep very well at all. The psychological part was the worst though, I was pretty depressed for a couple weeks. I also had a lot more anxiety and was quite a bit more irritable than I normally am.
