[ QUOTE ]
I think we can all agree that society would be better off without muggers. (...) It disgusts me that there are so many people out there that think criminals should have more rights than law-abiding citizens. [/ QUOTE ] I think society would be better off without moralistic "law-abiding citizens" that think they can decide who deserves to live and die. That doesn't mean I condone killing of these people. |

I agree, no one wants to kill anyone here. But to think that someone acting in self-defense is somehow wrong and muggers are somehow held in better regard than their victims and should be given a license to rob whomever they want whenever they want is what really pisses me off.
I don't understand your train of thought, do you think if we just let the muggers keep robbing people, eventually they will think they have enough money and stop? |

It really has more to do with the fact that he is a pointing a gun at my face than "who" he is. I mean, it's basic survival instinct.
As for being proud of killing this person, I might have gone a little far with that statement. But look at it this way: you may have saved the life of an innocent person that mugger would have killed in the future. |

So who in your view is allowed to judge people? [/ QUOTE ] To death? No one. But certainly not individuals. To other things? Since we don't have a better alternative, courts of law. |

[/ QUOTE ] Why do you think it isnt our job to decide if someone should live or die? I take it you don't believe in a higher power, so whats teh difference, we are all just animals, it happens all the time, the bad get weeded out by death? Why are you trying to push your morals on me? |

It would depend on if my wife and/or young son were with me and were also threatened.
If they aren't with me, I probably just hand over the cash. a few bucks aren't worth another life. But if the wife or kid are in danger, I'll get all Samuel Jackson in Pulp Fiction on your ass. ...and I will strike down upon thee with furious anger... |

If you think you can decide who deserves to live and die, there's nothing I can do about that. And I'm not curious to know if you think everyone else too can kill whoever they want. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't really know, but somebody should create a legal system or something, where individuals play various important roles, one of which is judging and deciding what happens to people. We could call them deciders. |
