Argh...more Game 7 memories. It's one I will remember forever (even if I didn't have the best view from the last row). I, too, thought Floyd was going to be the next big post-season hero. I had visions of the trajectory of the ball off the bat, depositing in the Mets bullpen in right.
Same with Reyes....same with Beltran. It's a shame it didn't happen...if only so Endy's catch could be remembered as the greatest of all time. |

[/ QUOTE ] I remember thinking after we got the 1st 2 on that the inning would be even more painful then 1-2-3. I guess I'm just more of a pessimist. |

Ojeda,
Normally I am the same way. When 55,000 stand up and are going nuts, I'm sitting nervous as hell in my seat refusing to get excited until something actually happens. Something overtook me there though. I was screaming as Cliffy as I have never screamed at a sporting event before in my life. For a brief few moments, I simply believed. It was an awfully silent ride back on the LIRR. |

I remember being kinda depressed at the time about something else, though I can't remember what it was, but it probably wasn't helping my optimism... .... better 9th inning memories (for old guys) METS 9TH: Clendenon struck out; Swoboda grounded out (first to pitcher); Charles singled to left; Grote singled to left [Charles to third]; Weis singled to left [Charles scored, Grote to second]; Koosman grounded out (shortstop to first); 1 R, 3 H, 0 E, 2 LOB.
