Oh - gotcha. Lol @ insensitive foreigner. -Al [/ QUOTE ] i'm sure simon is too self-absorbed to realize that chris is from virginia and has friends attending the school...he's the right age and i'd assume VT is big in chesapeake and nearby virginia beach/norfolk/hampton etc..... |

Blake sucked ass. It's becoming apparent that he sings every song exactly the same way, with some sort of faggy pseudo-Briish accent. When he did it with just the Cure song I thought it was all right, but it's gone too far.
Jordin owned tonight. |

i think i'm finally off the DI bandwagon. too many huge misses.... but it has sanjaya/lakisha by themselves at the bottom.
on one hand, sanjaya picks up alot of support later from the pacific northwest.... but his performance i think took him back to the dark, early days (and i do think his voting improvement had alot to do with his having decent performances... and given imus and other very recent important events, not sure the shock jock vote will be out in force this week) |

I'm also surprised that Chris R. knows anyone not just at Va Tech, but at any college... or anyone who ever went to college.

I see WSEX still has the LL lines up.
Didn't they suspend them last week between show and results? |

I do not know if you look at the Raw Numbers on Dial Idol. If you do, notice out of 50k votes total, sanjaya has 20k of them almost triple anyone else. Votes tell the tale and hell be safe again this week

smbruin. DI has been MONEY at 9:30 PM EST. This is when the best results have come in the last month.
Last week Haley was at the bottom by about 5% below the 2nd lowest. The week before Gina was at the bottom. The week before too close to call, Chris Sligh was 2nd to last by like 1%. Sorry was on vacation when Stephanie left so not sure about her results, and can't remember if it was her or Brandon who left first. The week before was Brandon by around 6%. This week Lakisha 27% Sanjaya 25.1 % Sanjaya's margin has been about 2 to 5 % lower than Lakisha this first half hour. I am big on Sanjaya lasting longer than Phil and Phil looks to be very much safe which scares the hell out of me. I think the Sanjaya craze ends tomorrow night. Don't like that but I think it is over. -Brendan |

[ QUOTE ] Anyone think Sanjaya might be in trouble this week? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. I'm thinking its Chris R, Lakisha, and Sanjaya bringing up the rear. All 3 with a legit shot at going home. [/ QUOTE ] No way Sanjaya is B3. His performance tonight was exactly what got him this far. Here's my ranking tonight FWIW: 1. Melinda (I actually really enjoyed this) 2. Phil 3. Jordin 4. Blake 5. Lakisha 6. Sanjaya 7. Chris Not much separates the 5, 6, and 7 for me. All were terrible, but that doesn't say much for Sanjaya. I think Lakisha was legitimately bad tonight. She can't really sing country, but even aside from that, she was shouting and I couldn't understand half of what she said. Chris was bad, and his little fight with Simon was horrible. I couldn't decide whether I should laugh or puke. Like others have said, Phil was actually good tonight, but being the first to go and followed up by a few good performances, I fear he is still forgotten. Still my pick to go home, with Chris a close 2nd. (As I write this, Phil is #1 on DI.) I'm going to have to agree with what I think Brendan said earlier about Melinda's price - at $58 currently, there is zero value (dare I said it may even be -EV?) in buying her contracts. The only value I see is in Jordin and Blake. This is quickly becoming a 3-way competition. |

Somehow my last post didn't make it.
But # of votes only helps to get a more solid line on the ratio for busy/actual votes which means those numbers are even more solid. Also Sanjaya is losing the most states and is 2nd to last in most of the states that have Lakisha listed as last. I moved the line on WSEX a little to get out of my Sanjaya to last longer than Phil. Was at +260 Phil, now at +240. I see huge value in this, which I now stand to make a few hundred if I am right about Sanjaya leaving. I also "hedged" my bet with an equal amount of Melinda to outlast Lakisha just in case. -Brendan |
