Barring a move by Oak to grab a vet QB

1. OAK: Russell
2. BUCS: CJ
3. CLE: Adrian Peterson
4. DET: Gaines Adams
5. AZ: Joe Thomas
6. Wash: Prob trade to someone who wants Quinn.

Why are the Lions passing on Quinn? They are at the perfect stage to get a new franchise QB. They have young WR talent, aren't poised to win next year, have a serviceable veteran who can start for the next year or so...

Gaines Adams might be a good pass rusher, but I think at BEST he is going to be a poor man's Dwight Freeney... That seems like an awful pick by them.

/edit or is the fact that it doesn't make sense your rational for predicting it?

I don't think that is realistic. Who are teams going to move from 10 to 6 to get?

[/ QUOTE ]

Are we pretty sure Brady Quinn won't be available at #6? How about Adrian Peterson?

It seems relatively unlikely. Quinn should really go top 3 imo. If Peterson is available at 6, who do you see moving up to get him? Maybe the Bills? I think moving up for a RB would be a horrible decision by them since they have so many bigger holes to fill on the other side of the ball...

I could see the Packers trying to move up maybe, but no one above them.

its the fact that everything i read is about the player the coaches really want is Gaines..but they can't justify picking him at #2. There has been no talk whatsoever about interest in Quinn.

They currently have Ahman Green, Ron Dayne, Samkon Gado and Wally Lundy on their roster so I don't think they'd really be candidates to trade up for a RB. They have MUCH bigger holes. If I'm the Texans at 10 I'm sitting and hoping Levi Brown falls to me.

Yeah, the only player I wouldn't mind them moving up for is Thomas. They don't need a top-10 RB, QB or WR.

I think pretty much every team would benefit from the addition of CJ

Thomas would be a nice addition for them but they really can't afford to trade up (they need more picks, not less)

They've already got AJ though. With him there, they won't get enough out of CJ to mkake it worthwhile to trade up.

I know they have a lot of holes, but I'd feel better knowing they had their left tackle. Plus, trading down is a good way to replace a buncha just guys with a buncha other just guys.
