My latest MB update.

First, the bad news. Nothing new on my Party or UB depsoits, or my Everest lock. Grrrrrr. Standard in this industry, though, for CS to take forever...unless you're dealing with one of the few gems like Stars, Stan James, Nordicbet...I'm sure there are a few others.

Now to the good news. Just went to my bank (Credit Union, actually - Coast Capital) in regards to the transfer. Yes they can do it, no there is no fee for a transfer <$100. $15 for $100-$999, $25 for $1,000+. Takes up to 7 days to get there. Unfortunately I couldn't do it while I was there, as all of the routing numbers weren't enough...they also require the addresses of both MB and the German bank...sigh.

Some more good news. There is some awkward wording on their limits page that seemed to imply that even though they call it an "outgoing transaction limit", the limits might apply to transfers both ways. Not so, according to the email they sent me. The limit applies to any money leaving your MB account...either sent to a merchant, or withdrawn to your bank account, cheque, etc. In other words, if you transfer $5,000 to poker sites, and $5,000 back to your MB account, that only counts as $5,000 against your limit, not $10,000.

hahah sorry I meant hey, did you have to pay long distance...

They haven't responded to any of my questions through messaging centre... but we'll see they're prob busy.

Ahhh lol, sorry. I imagine I did, yes. I wasn't on hold for more than a couple of minutes, though...I would've hung up if they kept me waiting too long. Good option if you really want an answer right away. They're not 24 hours, though, so you need to be calling early in the morning...only open UK business hours.

As to the messaging center, like I said, it took a couple of days, unfortunately.

Edit to add: Just checked the email they sent me, and it's from one of those "noreply" addresses. They ask me to go back on the messaging center if I have any further questions...damn!

Bobo,

Great work and thanks for taking the time to post updates.

I went to my bank today and got a new Visa Card and a new paperless/no fee (almost) Bank Account (CAD) exclusively to setup a new online withdrawl option to replace NeTeller.

Your posts regarding MoneyBookers are greatly appreciated.

I was shocked to hear that Neteller would be unavailable to Canadians. I read this thread thoroughly but I can't seem to find much info on click2pay. Since I play mainly in FT and UB, both click2pay and epassporte seem to be viable options. however, if I want to link my chequing account to one of these sites(like I did w/ neteller), is click2pay my only option? and can I plz have some feedback about 2 sites above? I see that majority of the posts on this thread is about Moneybooker. thanks in advance.

I don't know if you've seen it, but there is a lengthy *official* ePassporte thread in this forum, I believe...might find some answers there. Personally, I plan to sign up for all three, but I'm still waiting for my verfication email from C2P, and I haven't gotten around to starting on ePassporte yet.

Edit to add:

ePassporte

TYVM to you and others who've passed along similar messages.

I just remember what complete and utter chaos reigned on here when the US got dumped on, and thought it would be nice if we could avoid that happening again, and try to keep everyone in the game. Fortunately for us, our situation is not nearly as difficult as theirs became...hopefully it will remain that way for us. We're also lucky in that we gained a lot of knowledge from their experiences.

Thanks to everyone who is contributing to this effort...as a group we are able to get a lot more answers than if we all scramble around on our own.

Here's to continuing online poker for many more years!

i would also like to hear from those who have used click2pay. especially about exchange rates/USD account, and fees for withdrawals.
One of my OnGame skins actually sent me an email suggesting i replace neteller with click2pay specifically, although they also offer moneybookers, i want to try c2p first. if no horror stories, obv.

Here's a thread by someone who indicates that UB nolonger takes MoneyBookers, eventhough UB still lists MB as an option.

Bobo...you may want to edit the master list to reflect this discrepency.

UB and MoneyBookers

I have read this thread but I'm feeling pretty dense at absorbing this info.

Is it safe to say there is no longer be a free way to transfer money from one poker site to another?

Is it also now impossible to transfer more than $1K between sites at a time?

Thanks for everyone who has been providing information in this thread, especially Bobo. I'm trying to stay positive about this but it doesn't seem like there is going to be any good news to come out of this.

I was initially rooting for those Neteller execs to beat the charges by the US DOJ. But now I have changed my mind and I hope they are hung for abandoning the Canadian market for no reason.
