This thread is unbelievable. Good posters are talking about breaking even and even losing money over long stretches.
Either you play completetly different than what you advocate in this forum or this is a seat, table,or even site selection issue.
And I would bet most of what I own on the latter.

140k break even is nothing. -.14BB/100 over 70,000 hands is nothing. If you still love the game there is no reason to quit. Guy, if you do these 7 things you'll be fine.

1) Table select very well

2) Seat select very well

3) Always play well

4) Never tilt

5) Always have a bankroll large enough that its impossible to go broke.

6) Keep studying the game.

7) When you hate poker take a 3-7 day break so you dont suffer burn out.

You know whats funny about this game. Its very easy to make money at this game. All you have to do is follow these steps and you will make money. I cant guarantee how much money you'll make or how long it will take you to make money, but you will eventually make money. You dont have to be a poker superstar to make money at this game. Once you know the fundamentals all you have to do is the things ive mentioned and the money will come.

Whats funny about this fact is that this game we call poker is extremely complex and very difficult to master. Becoming an expert can take a life time for many individuals. Yet making money in this game is actually very easy. Just table select well, seat select well, always play well, never tilt and always have a large enough bankroll where you cant run out of money and most importantly dont throw in the towel over some measily 140K break even streak. Just keep playing.

I pretty much play exactly as I post I think and dont have any tilt issues or anything like that. For me its totally a seat/site issue. But I probably wont change sites for awhile, I was a 2bb/100 winner before at 3/6-5/10 on Boss for over 12 months (with only 2 months losing money even pre rb) and I wasnt nearly as good back then. Wsex is high rake (before rb) and most players are 2p2ish so its tough to kill the games but -.5bb/100 is really the equivalent post rb of winning 2bb/100 so its all good and I feel as tho I improve constantly playing in tougher games like this (with rb the swings also dont feel as bad getting it back every week 100% and the good weeks are tit). I doubt Ill move over to Pstars anytime soon (seems like those 5/10 games are just as much filled with semi-pro type players with maybe a couple more fish here and there anyways), or Full tilt i just like my RB way too much to give it up even if the games kinda suck comparatively. I think its the norm on Wsex actually for mediocre tags or bad players to lose like 1-2bbs/100 with the way the rake is set up at the tables.

Im pretty sure in the next year or two when this ban issue goes away the games will get back to being more profitable (hopefully the asian market explodes into poker as well), until then Im just gonna grind RB at low limits well within my BR like the whore I am.

guy mcsucker i dont really know u but anyone who contributes to mhush has to be good enough to beat 3/6 for like $50/hr. and the earnings ceiling for a good but not great player who doesn't do a whole lot of work is a lot higher than $50/hr.

poker is the easiest gig ever. the variance is pretty much the only downside.

jstill every person i know that plays on wsex is pretty bright and resigned to playing 1/2 or 3/6 forever. move to another site pls.

i have always had, likely, the best table selection on the forum. i have always played at completely different, and fairly unknown, sites with no other 2ers.
