Default losing to 6 aces/beating 5....keep plowin ahead?

1/2 nl at nyc club. table is 9 handed.

effective stacks: $300

hand occured within 2nd orbit so i dont have any substantial read. this is my second open raise since i sat. first one ended in me winning on c-bet. HJ hasnt been too active in 15 hands ive sat.

i open in MP to $10 with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. HJ calls as does BB.

($31) flop is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

BB checks, I bet $20, HJ calls, BB folds.

($71) turn is 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]

i check, HJ bets $30, i call (????)

what is your plan on the following possible river cards...reason?
1)T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
2)8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3)J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
4)A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

is there a card i want to see most on river?

I think you should have bet on the turn again.

1-bet close to pot
2-check, call
3-check, call
4-bet close to pot

i agree leading out on the turn shuts down alot of hands.
1-bet pot
2-check, fold bet on river
3-check, fold bet on river
4-bet bout 2/3 pot

runnin,danj,

lets think about how many 'ace holdings' our opponent can hold vs. us. of those, how many are we beating? if we bet turn do you think a fold is in order to any raise of substance (i.e, no minraise). is this not a classic, 'lets get to showdown' type hand/situation? if no, why?

yesplease,

I don't like preflop this early into the session. Raising ATo in MP without reads on the table is asking to be put into tough situations such as this where you're likely to spew money with a marginal hand. If you're in the CO/Button it's obviously fine since you'll control the action for the rest of the hand.

Calling the turn is fine. As for the river, I suggest the following actions.

1) Donk 70
2) Donk 30
3) Donk 30
4) Donk 30

The great thing about live players is that most of them are very weak, passive players. These bets (besides the river T) should shut down most opponents that hold anything weaker than top two pair from raising, and extract value from the weaker aces as well. The concept of a blocking bet is lost on virtually all of these players.
