[ QUOTE ]
WOW, do any of your have any business sense? First off all, 150/hour is about $250,000 a year. Any business person pulling down that kind of money is going to be answering cell calls while he's on vacation in Hawaii. In other words, in the business world, if you want to be making a couple hundred grand a year, you sure as hell better be giving your customers A+++ attention. [/ QUOTE ] This is just so incredibly not true. I think it's ridiculous to expect snowbank to be answering phone calls and keeping a really strict schedule just for his students. The online poker community is really informal, and it's pretty common for people to just sort of get things done whenever they both happen to be online. That said, when he's really busy he should make specific time for students. He definitely shouldn't keep giving them vague responses like "sometime later today or tomorrow" and then not actually doing it--especially if he's got students who are as obsessive as it sounds like OP was. |

I cannot see anyone wanting to be coached by snowbank again
unfortunately, this story is not much of a surprise to me this stuff is inevitable with the amount of coaching going on these days. |

[ QUOTE ]
] I disagree. If ethics is concerned with how we should act, "not like a prick" is at least a good guideline to start off with. [/ QUOTE ] Ethics is not concerned with how we 'should' act, ethics is concerned with how we have a duty to act. You can argue about whether Snow ought to give the money back, or even if it would have been in his interest to give it back (I think certainly yes) but that's another matter and purely subjective. |

About the business deal-
Snowbank upheld his part of the deal and made it apparent before the start that there is no refund. He also turned down other clients to coach pokersanjuan also. Snowbank did nothing wrong. On the personal side of things- Snowbank is a friend of mine. I know his high school friends very well since I went to college with them and this is how I met snowbank. He has been nothing but helpful to me over the past year giving me advice and helping me in situations that are no value to him. A great example is that I recently got screwed by an affiliate and he went out of his way to help me retrieve my money with no incentive on his part because he is not coaching me. This is absurd for someone to challenge a poker player's integrity especially one that is of snowbank's stature. It is extremely hard to get a reputation back on track but I speak for everyone else on this forum that snowbank is a stand up guy and there is absolutely no reason not to trust him or think that he will scam you in anyway. That is my 2cents... |

[/ QUOTE ] OK, he is a stand up guy and all his friends vouch for him. Why can't other students use my hours? What is wrong with that? Even if I accept I am in the wrong and dont deserve anything back, ok. Let someone else use the hours. I think this displays what type of person he is and in itself shows how far off he is - if he will not even allow that. |
