Mine's spelled Alanna, so I get a lot of mispronunciations. Aubrey was actually a men's name, I think Audrey is the female variation. I like both.

My middle name is Marie (pretty generic), and my last name rhymes with high.
So my name rhymes with Marijuana High. and I don't even smoke [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

[/ QUOTE ] Audrey strikes me as one of those old-time almost comically hideous female names, like Gertrude or Gretchen, or on a less superbad level, Martha, Ruth, or Esther. But to each their own.

I also agree with the lady above who said the long a's are sexy. I find the short a's, like in Anne, sort of piercing, blunt, and annoying.
