The fact that I'm at Cambridge University is not something I tried to hide. I write numerous articles including poker book reviews for the sun and other papers. There is absolutely no malicious intent towards jc or ftp. It would be a story on the internet angle of poker which of course is all the rage at the moment. If he doesn't want to do it, fair enough and the article could still have some substance as there are other cases. I signed up especially to ask him and he has not given me an official 'yes' or 'no'. I can wait.

Right I have just got off the phone to a contact at another newspaper (the one with the biggest circulation in uk) and it is a goer. Yes the angle is to warn people of the dangers of hacking etc but it is not a 'slating' of internet sites. It is a memo to all to beef up security in every way possible. I am aware that for the majority of people nothing of any note has happened but for some lives have been changed. We are writing the story in the next few days so any help would be appreciated (and possibly credited if the story is a big spread).
Many thanks. |

[ QUOTE ]
The largest newspaper in England is the Sun which is a trash paper, the story would likely be scaremongering, and you can't run it without someone's name based solely upon an internet message board (although if it is the Sun thats probably more evidence than you normally get). [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I don't think jcmoussa is really concerned about keeping his real name secret. |

It's a story, a good story ffs. This is not an attempt to lick his a$$, slate full tilt or scare away the fish. I am a poker player too but if I had anything from $1 up to $1 million dollarz, i would want to know if it were possible for someone somerwhere to access it.

teh Sun is an awful tabloid.. i really can't see them running a feature on online poker that is favourable or beneficial in any way. |

I'm just a recreational mid-stakes player, but after the earlier high-stakes hacking incident and pathetically slow response from FTP I sent them an e-mail letting them know I wouldn't be returning to their site until I saw significant improvement. I'm sad but not surprised that nothing has changed. Players, vote with your wallet.

please reread my repsonses before you make sweeping uninformed generalised statements! It's not going in the sun and there are some valid points to be made that the nation needs to hear. If someone told me that my article would have any effect on the poker world I would be thrilled - sadly I am a small fish in a massive pond so to speak.

Sorry if my response came off a bit uninformed. To help people get a better understanding of the angle the article will take, can you tell us what the "valid points to be made that the nation needs to hear" are? I can't imagine any article about online poker in a national UK paper being beneficial to us. |
