[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] You should, though, in future hands with this opponent, ask to see his hand for the sake of integrity. [/ QUOTE ] 99% of the time this would just slow down the game while seeming very dickish (asking to see a hand is a serious breach of etiquette and he'd probably just be confused and i'd have to explain myself to anyone at the table who asks) [/ QUOTE ] it's an easy explanation: he can't read his hand. in nearly every live game i've ever played in, if a guy couldn't read his hand, we'd all be very nice to him and have no problem having him show his hand every time. i'm sure most everyone at the table would agree. very easy to explain, and more honest. |

He should not give the money back. Can someone explain how this differs from the guy turning over AK and thinking he had two aces? If so, I will change my opinion.

[ QUOTE ]
You know, honestly, while you might be ethically "correct" in keeping the pot b/c the other guy is not very bright and can't read his own [censored] hand, given that there's more to life than the thousand bucks you get out of this deal I'd probably just make the side deal with him and chop the pot and give him half. Can you justify yourself over and over in keeping the pot? - yeah, totally. Is is really worth the nagging doubt in your mind asking you whether the price of your integrity is worth exactly the size of that pot? - No, in your case it's not. [censored] it, give him half and move on, the amount of money involved is not anywhere near worth your peace of mind here. Kirk [/ QUOTE ] This could work, but the effort in getting this non-English speaking player to understand you want to chop the pot would be frustrating and put you on mega-tilt. the only question is whether or not you should bitch slap the guy talking when he's not in the hand.
and my vote is yes. |

if i saw the aces as he mucked, i would do something. but if you never saw his cards, you can't trust that the other guy didn't misread the hand. i think it's best to just let it go in this situation.

I wouldn't say [censored] if he folded Aces.

ive had this happen several times while playing live.
Usually this happens on a double paired board. But I had a situation where I had pocket 9s on a A7869 board. I had bet the flop of A78 he called. C/C turn. I bet river he called w/ AT. I showed my 999. He held up AT to me, and then threw it in the muck. No one said anything. This is part of the game. You do not owe him anything. -Jared |

I dont expect someone else to give me money if I misread the board and muck aces here.
