Default Re: Fallsview Trip Report

"After dinner, I played a few hands at my old table before my table change request came through. I get the 7 seat, and I see WHP1 from my old table in 8. He wasn't too happy to see me. Seats 9 and 10 were also familiar faces from the very first time I'd played at Fallsview. Seat 9 was Nostradamus, who LOVED to tell you what he put you on. He was talking about poker all night with Seat 10, and eventually another regular who joined us in seat 6. Unfortunately, he was actually a pretty decent hand reader. Seat 10 was Captain Cognac. I remembered him not for his play, but because he kept ordering Remy all night. He was back at it tonight. I don't know what to make of him as a player. He was very erratic, limping suited trash UTG, but he wasn't too bad postflop. The rest of the table was pretty unexiting. Seat 1 was decent. Seat 3 was atrocious, but we never tangled. Seats 2, 4, and 5 were the usual rotation of donks."

Small world, you actually took my seat. I left seat seven around 7:30 ish to get dinner and then head to the club Dragonfly in the Casino which is really good.

Loved your description of Nostradamus. I saw he was raising light and called him in position with 7h4h and 4 other callers. Flop was 449 and I stacked him by just calling him down and he showed 88. He was pissed about that.

Great description of Congac, he had a big stack and I also did not know what to make of him. He called all kinds or raises with garbage but seems great at sniffing out continuation bets. Called by down when I was continuation betting but folded when I had it. I still won $700 CDN which was cool.

Brag: Finally Fox has a HD channel on cable in Rochester. I get to watch 24 in HD.

Variance: It came after football season.

Well the Fox Rochester game is the Giants usually so you didn't miss much.

They had my Seahawks a few times, though. That's why I care. Unfortunately, Fox doesn't have the Super Bowl this year. As dumb as Joe Buck is, I think he's better than either of the CBS guys.

DrM,

Beat? Well, apparently 24 didn't get saved to my DVR after I watched it, but I was planning on deleting it anyway, and I still got to see the whole thing. Also, the bottle of Rogue Imperial Stout (750 mL, 11% ABV) I consumed while watching it didn't live up to my expectations.

Thanks Matt,

Here are the relevant B, B & V from my evening:

Beat: I tried to do laundry using the money I'd put on my student ID card for this purpose last semester only to find out that it expires at the end of the semester. I lost like $7.

Brag: I made myself arroz con pollo for dinner and had a few glasses of Toasted Head's 2003 merlot (13.5% ABV) with it.

Variance: When I actually did do laundry, someone came to take their laundry out of the dryer before their time was used up, so I got like 16 free minutes of drying time.

Sincerely,
Ben

I need a suggestion for dinner!!

Quick... anyone???

[/ QUOTE ]

So we decided on Andiamos, a small family owned Italian rest. close to our house.

Brag :
Wife had herb crusted salmon w/ garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus.

I had perfectly cooked lamb chops w/ sauteed spinach and scallopped potatoes.

We shared a cup of roasted corn chowder.

Variance :
The garlic rolls were cold

Beat :
I dropped and smashed my last Schleppe on the floor in the garage
