outback sucks because if you order a soda, it comes in a large glass with the correct amount of ice in it.

[/ QUOTE ]

and they refill very quickly, I mean seriously, wtf?

[/ QUOTE ]

the glasses are SMALL. i drink at least 6 or 7

[/ QUOTE ]

daryn - I drink 4-5 sodas too, but that's because they are free refills and I am a cheap value-minded bastard.

[/ QUOTE ]

i get water. my point is the glasses are too small

Jeez - the last two times I went to outback, the wait staff didn't want to be in the same time zone as us...worst service ever, but both times in Arcadia Ca - is this a site specific issue, or does the service suck generally?

why would the service at an outback in california be in any way related to the service at an outback anywhere else? do you think they have some kind of policy that promotes [censored] service?

In general, the waitstaff gets very few tables there and the service is fine. I've had slow service on occasion but nothing worth talking about it.

this thread is crazy. Outback is a great value. they actually make a lot of food there (quasi homemade), the managers are well paid and have equity in the company (ie the restaurants are typically well managed and in good shape), and the steaks are exactly what you would expect for what you pay. far from a top notch $45 a la carte steak, but certainly much better than a steak at Chilis or Fridays.

plus there is a good beer selection and all sorts of guilty pleasure stuff to order.

outback rules!!

So many people hating Outback makes me cry. Large Outback special + mashed potatoes + ceasar salad + bread w/ honey butter for under $20 makes me happy.

People that hate on Outback are the same type of people that hate on the big three pizza places (Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's). It's just sooooooooooooo cool to rip on chain restaurants because they mass produce.

Whatever - they aren't all created equally and they don't all suck. For whatever reason Phoenix has spawned some pretty awesome chains - Houston's, Fleming's, and PF Chang's all come to mind, and there may be others. My personal favorite isn't local though and used to be owned and may still be owned by Pepsico - California Pizza Kitchen. Man I love that place.

Can't stand Cheesecake Factory though. Anyway, someone should start a thread about "high-end chain restaurants that don't suck" or some such thing.
