You made that read preflop?!? How do you do that? And let me guess: you just used that bet pot-button on the damn river, didn't you? I [censored] hate that thing! It holds villains back from making stupid small stabs at the pot on the river that you can easily call. I'm really starting to call this crap with any made hand just on principle.

I read villain to be weak by the way he was playing. I didn't have much of a hand on the flop after the minraise, but I hate folding to minraises by fish. This pot was big so I thought I would call and see what his turn action is. He checked behind on a card in the playing zone. The pot was big, villain was weak so I insta shoved OOP for max fold equity, but villain seemingly read me to have highcard ace and called my pot size river bet with an underpair.

I meant to post this earlier. I have to c/f this right? Villain was a solid player.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($107.60)
UTG ($72.10)
MP ($30.85)
Button ($32.85)
Hero ($70.70)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, BB raises to $7, Hero raises to $20, BB calls $13.

Flop: ($40) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $25, Hero folds.

Can anyone tell me if this is fine? I highly doubt villain bets here without an A but I could be wrong.

WHY....THE....[censored]...DO...I...RUN...LIKE...[censored]...EVERY...TIME...I...TAKE...A...SHOT...AT...100NL

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $76.15
Cant Beat 100nl: $104.65
CO: $58.25
Button: $129.90
SB: $98
BB: $77.45

Pre-flop: (6 players) Cant Beat 100nl is IN EARLY POSITION WITH SUITED CRAP
UTG raises to $3, Cant Beat 100nl SEES THAT SOME IDIOT RAISES 3BB IN FRONT OF HIM AND MIGHT HAVE A STRONGER THAN AVERAGE HAND - DESPITE THIS HE IGNORES THE GAP CONCEPT COMPLETELY AND STILL calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Emc - you know better than this...

Either fold JQs here preflop or at if you HAVE To play then raise it up and isolate UTG (if he's raising too often and you think you're ahead pre) flat calling leaves you wide open to getting squeezed by someone in LP or entices half the table to call as well getting juicy pot odds (especially CO/Button who for added bonus would have position on the both of you.)

You can get away with bad calls like this at lower stakes cos villains are unable or unwilling to punish you with LP raises very often. Given the light 3bet fest that 100NL is becoming you gotta let drawing hands go from EP unless you're draw is likely gonna be the nuts if it hits (so s00ted Aces are cool - but pretty picture s00ted connectors blow ) ESPECIALLY when it's already a raised pot.

KK hand = running like [censored], well played but standard cold cold deck.

t'other hand is all your own fault dude.

By all means buddy list him and pillage his bankroll over the next few days making dam sure to slow roll him at every given opportunity with a "lolotrickedu" into the chat box when you stack him - get him onto monkey tilt and take him for even more monies, slow rolling douche that he is...
