I wonder how the people calling Tuff Fish a jerk would feel if Party Poker announced layoffs.

Sure Party schemed day and night for quicker ways to take our money, just like multitabling TAGs to Tuff, but at least they had the human decency to remind us to Enjoy.

HUD bots are leeches on society who produce no wealth. Nor do they provide enjoyment or entertainment in return for the money they take. They do nothing useful, while still consuming actual stuff that actual people go to work each day to build/package/write/cook/grow/deliver. Those of you who have chosen greed over work or study don't deserve anyone's pity or sympathy.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry, how is this statement any more or less accurate if you say "Poker players" instead of "HUD bots"?

I will play out my pittance on Stars, mostly tournaments now, and when/if I go busto,.. so long online.

Unfortunately I think this is probably the exact mindset of 99% of the US fish still playing online poker. The online game is pretty much done. See you at the casino.

QFT.

Sucks but what are you gonna do? Oh yeah, there are usually 7 players to the flop at 9/18 at Commerce. That'll do.

You guys will enjoy trying to tear each other apart. Online poker is going to be real -ev real soon.

[/ QUOTE ]

That part is the part I don't agree with. The best player at the table will always be +EV (as long as he's good enough to beat the rake) Many regulars are only staying afloat because of the MEGA MORONS. Those people will die. But the many 2+2'ers that can actually "play" poker....will be fine.

Look at ABS, many players are NITTY, but just means you have to raise more. I for one am not worried about online poker supporting my living. Worst case scenario I just move down and beat up on the small stakes regulars.

I am wondering how many "winning" poker players came online from the B&M world, got picked clean by you multitabling grinders, then went crying to their elected officials about this awful rigged online poker. Could that have anything to do with the current troubles?

I am sort of enjoying this. Although you didn't directly bring "THIS" onto your heads, you were all working hard toward it. The government just hastened the process.

[/ QUOTE ]

lol, no. It's kinda cute that you believe that elected officials would listen to bad beats stories from random fish losing a couple of hundred online, but they do not. Government isn't going after poker anyway, this whole thing has been anti-sportsbetting crusade from the start, poker is just a bystander getting hit by a stray bullet.

I'm certain that you really are enjoying this, like you would enjoy watching a house on fire which belongs to a neighbor who makes more money than you has a hotter wife. You wish you were smart enough to make money playing online poker, but you are not, so of course it gives you pleasure seeing people smarter than you suffer, but we'll be fine tuff, really, because you see, we are smart and we will figure out the way to make money out of this anyway or maybe move on to something different and apply our brains there. Don't worry about us.

The ramblings of a bitter old man who's pissed he couldn't win playing 1 table vs. opponents playing 12.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's really what it came off like.

Makes me sad too I watched almost all of Tuff's videos and he was a mini celeb in my mind...guess he has no love for the people that gave him his 15 minutes of fame

It's not true anyway. Poker is allowing me to think about certain Computer Science problems in a much clearer way. I'm more or less a beginner (this is my first year full-time, and you can only get so far part time. I was able to quit my job and support myself thanks to poker), but other people in my field, who are otherwise geniuses, don't have intuition on concepts that are easy for poker players. This comes up in some search-related techniques. I'm pretty sure that when it comes time to write my PhD dissertation, poker-related ideas will have large part. I also like to think that my work will eventually benefit society.

And I'm not the brightest bulb on these boards. The kids that grow up thinking game theory are going to be monster thinkers when they're in the work force.

Yeah. You play less hands, but at 5x higher stakes.
