Adding 100 tables to the room, to 300.
They are calling some (12) "World Championship XXX", rest not. So "first day" of ME, play down from 3000ish to 1000ish? |

"There has been no change in our registration policy," he said. "We do not accept third-party registrations from online pay-to-play poker sites that do business with U.S. residents. We didn't do that in 2005 or 2006 either." [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I'm really confused by this too. If Stars didn't buy my seat in 2005 then how the hell did I get in? Stars sent in the money in my name. I showed up and picked-up my registration-card which was already waiting for me. So I have no idea what they mean by "no 3rd party registrations from online sites" if evidently what they did for me (and several thousand players over the past few years) evidently isn't that. this just doesn't make any sense at all. FWIW - UB is already running satellites for the WSOP. I'm assuming that FT and Stars will be soon also. Also note that one of the prizes for Supernova Elite on Stars is a WSOP package. |

When do we typically find out which of these events will be televised? Long time from now?

Considering the guidlines that Harrah's gave the players council, I have to say that I think they did an excellent job listening to the players concerns and put together a schedule that benefits all parties. The added events should be fun, and I'm REALLY hoping that there is a decent turn out for the Stud H/L events otherwise I'll end up with egg on my face. Being a vegan, that's not a good thing. I fought really hard to include a higher buy in Stud H/L event, as well as the mixed game event with just the two H/L games. You could actually play a pretty full slate of events this year without being a hold'em player. Great Success! I Like... |

So, what is the format of the Mixed Holdem events?
One orbit of Limit, followed by an orbit on NL, or what? Thanks... |

Published 10/18 on pokerlistings.com Thompson said that the registration policy for the WSOP wasn't changed by the enactment of the UIGEA. "There has been no change in our registration policy," he said. "We do not accept third-party registrations from online pay-to-play poker sites that do business with U.S. residents. We didn't do that in 2005 or 2006 either." http://www.pokerlistings.com/tentati...-for-2007-wsop Based on how we would define 3rd party registrations we know that that isn't true. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the link. I didn't see that comment before. It seems I can still look forward to blowing lots of money on sats. I'm not sure how the policy reconciles with reality, though. Are the seats being bought by pokerstars.net, so it's OK? |

How would they overcome the huge swings a NL stack can take? So at the final table when the average stack has 30x BB it's gonna have 15 big bets? It seems like the stacks at limit hold'em final tables are usually a lot shallower than that...so everyone will just be waiting out the limit hold'em phase to get to NL so they can accumulate chips quickly. |
