ZoneAlarm worked for me for several years but it seems its time has passed as it gets flakier and less dependable. The lack of port forwarding is now a problem for me.
A quick exploration leaves me ready to install Comodo, chosen over Kerio because it's free. I'd be Ok with paying for Kerio if it is seriously better. I am aware that Sygate was popular for a long time but now that it is Symantec I want no part of it. Anybody have any comments or recommendations? Edit: I just noticed a similar thread a little ways down. Looks like Comodo was the winner there. |

I still prefer Sygate but you can't get it anymore. I was just playing with comodo and I have a gripe with it. It seems you can't toggle individual network rules on and off. You need to delete/recreate them or get creative w/ moving rules around. That's ridiculous.
Other than that, it's good. |
