OnlinePro, lucky you for living in a state where card rooms are legal. Here, casinos are run by the government (I live in Quebec, Canada) and the nearest one is 2 hours away but the nearest one with any form of poker is a good 8 hours drive :S. I wish I could go play 20-40 live or something a few evenings a week but instead I have to play 2/4 and 3/6 on tables with VPIP's of between 17 and 22 (!!!) with ~2-3 players per flop.

I haven't been playing poker that long but I'm a winning player and it freaking sucks not being able to play on more than 1 good table (and 1 is lucky). At least I can play party where there's still fish but you have to look for it, and there are not many tables running. Only a few 2/4 FR and often no 3/6 FR.

As for stars, I'd like to agree with all those saying advertisement/affiliates programs need to be pushed more!

To those who complain about cashouts, I don't quite understand. The deposit you made is refunded, which is why it is so quick (I think). They then send payment of the remainder of the cashout amount and you usually get it within ~12 hours. That's much better than 99% of the sites I've ever cashed out from. Many take 1-2 days. Does any site cashout faster than stars?

As for RB, I can't complain about it. The rake structure is pretty fair. They offer rake-free tables at nano's and the rake is reasonable unlike some other sites (party!). Some competitors offer RB and have similar rake structures but often have other problems. RB would be a big + for me but it's not faulty of them not to provide it considering the structure.

For those complaining about the layout, I hated it too at first and changed it to the marine theme. It feels much better to me, but that's probably just personal.

Lee,

Your site programmers will probably go into anaphalactic shock with these, but.......

Bounty Button - Have a bounty button that players can click that would put them in a voluntary "Bounty Pool". All players that select participation would have their ID backlit in a noticeably different color.

Las Longer Bets - Same idea, but a last longer pool.

[/ QUOTE ]

Reminds me of a live tournament I've played a couple times at the Horseshoe-Tunica.

It's $100+$25+$10 or something.

$100 into the prize-pool and $25 into the bounty-pool ($10 entry-fee).

Every player you knock-out you get $25.
Pretty fun actually and I think could be popular on a site like Stars.

Other bounty-type structures could be worth exploring too.

Right, Bob.

Orleans used to run a variation of this....Don't know if they still do or not.

It happens quite often in tournaments at Foxwoods, usually on a table basis. One player will make the suggestion: anyone interested in either a bounty or last longer will put $$ into a pool held by one player.

The bounties/last-longers are paid out as the participants in the pool bust out.

The amount of the bets vary with the size of the buyin, but when properly sized they provide a nice overlay vs. the buyin.

Yeah, the single-table satellites at the WSOP and the WSOP-circuit events had a lot of last-longers.

Often-times you had 5 or 6 people throw in a 50 or 100 for a pretty decent last-longer pool.

This is a good idea too for SNG's. But perhaps could lead even MORE to collusion problems I suspect.

The bounty thing that the Horseshoe-Tunica runs on Wednesdays in not on a volunteer basis.
If you enter the tourney then $25 of that goes into the bounty pool.

Also - I think it would be more polite to title such threads, "SUGGESTIONS for PokerStars" as opposed to 'complaints'.

Also learned in this thread that 'complaints' perhaps encourages more of the "The cards don't run right there" crowd.

I think my top complaint about Stars right now is that they withheld the info on the VIP changes which I didn't think was necessary.

This will be a moot point fairly soon though.

One thing I love about the Stars VIP program is you know EXACTLY what you're getting (as opposed to the old Party system where you...and sometimes they...never had a clue).

But now that I've obtained SN I really don't know what I'm going to be able to get for that.

I'm interested, and still excited, in finding out if I'll be happy I got to SN.
But waiting to see what it gets me is kind of similar to the old Party system unfortunately.

That what I think Sunday Warmup tourney is for. Stars needs to offer a guarantee on it too.

Very true. Without the guarantee the warm up isnīt quite as attractive

Stats has different tournaments for varying buy-ins 24 hours a day.

Sunday afternoon (U.S.) seems to be the default time for most sites to run their biggest tournament so Stars is no different in that respect.

It's inconvenient for European players but there's just no way you could have you one biggest tournament of the week at a time to accomodate everyone.
This is part of the reason why I'm opposed to the VIP freerolls. At least with the guaranteeds it's just a matter of not playing it if it's inconvenient for you.
With the VIP freerolls, if it's inconvenient for you then you are missing a lot of the value of VIP that you worked so hard to obtain.

I never get to play the guaranteeds because I'm almost always not available on Sundays. So I wouldn't mind if these were changed.
But that's how it goes and I really don't think that it's that valid to complain about, "I really want to play such-and-such tourney but it's inconvenient for me" because there's always another tourney you can play at your preferred time instead.

One suggestion I have - rather than a complaint, would be to differentiate between the default "yellow-disk" of players without a picture and an empty seat.

There have been times when I thought there were only two players left to act, and there were actually three. Someone without a picture picked up an empty seat and I didn't notice.

No biggie and only happened once or twice, but it'd be simple to make empty seats color A, and default player pics color B.

I already hit NOVA. I went for it because, with this new law or whatever its called before it I use to make 20k+ a month now I will be happy to make 5k+ a month.

Either way both of them are better than 0 per month, or working for a living.

Time banks are stupid they just slow up the game. Do people think they are going to get a read if they use 60 seconds?

IMHO, it was more like the worst post on this thread. Pretty much disagree with every point.
