You can go anywhere and do anything with your time outside poker. Can you think of anything else you would enjoy doing? Just to live life... Go there, do that, play poker on the side. Move to vegas, get in lots of live tourneys, move to san diego just for the weather for a year. Try Chicago, or NYC, San Francisco.

Perhaps none of that is the motivation you are looking for. If you want to make tons of cash and work the big time poker grind then I do suggest living with someone with the same perspective unless you can self motivate.

If you want to be a real professional poker player, isn't it obvious you have to live in Las Vegas, Nevada? Move there, live alone to avoid too much distraction, and play poker. The downside is a 6-hour filght back to PA to visit the family, but if you make the amount of money you think you'll make, the cost of a trip every two weeks shouldn't be a problem.

I obviously just got back from Vegas...and although I liked it, I'm not sure. I don't play live cash EVER and I think it would cost a lot more money than anywhere else.
