Villain is unknown
I am dealt KK on the button Preflop: I raise to $3.5. Villain calls from the SB. *** FLOP *** [Kh 6s 8c] $7 in the pot Villain bets $4. Hero ?? Board seems pretty dry and I think it is very likely he has a pair of 8s or something. There are 2 open ended str8 draws. Even if he hits a str8 I have a good redraw and if he has a pair he has 5 outs to get stacked. If I raise here it seems unlikely that he will call me. |

Most of the time I would just call this. There are few hands that have outs, only straight draws. Hopefully he bets the turn.

Re raise flop, straight draw out there and he could have something like 7/9 or 9/10. Re riase to about 10 or so/if you has a set you will be all in with him

Depends on stack sizes, as your primary goal is to be all-in by the river. With 100BB stacks, you're not going to get there without a raise or pot overbet somewhere, so I raise now, to $15 or so. An OESD may well still think he has implied odds to call.

Assuming 50c/$1 blinds, Calling your PF raise, he probably has a hand like KQ,KJ (seen flat calls with AK too) or maybe a small/mid PP and just made a set. On that basis, I'm reraising to about $12. You need to build the pot to make it harder for him to get away from the hand on later streets, and at the same time you are protecting yourself against the unlikely straight draws to some extent.
