Question taken from Uk gambling magazine "Inside Edge"...
Against a typical TA decent opponent...


"your playing $5-$10 and youve got $4,500 in front of you. guy in first position raises to $40. your in last position with 77 and reraise to $140.

the flop is 10 10 7.

gets checked to you and you bet $140 which is called.

turn 9.


checked again and you bet $400 which is called.

river J. gets checked to you and you bet $1000. he reraises for another $3k.

what do you do? no flush on board."

Flop bet was too small...
I would have overbet Turn....at least Pot...
River....Hmmmmmm, I expect AA/KK/QQ/JJ and perhaps a big T (AT/KT) to be here...

Depends on other factors....

I think I may have checked behind on river....

I probably wouldn't call - I'm possibly weak tight by nature...and I can't justify calling my stack off with JJ/TT/99/JT all ahead of me...

just call. there are too many hands ahead of you. i check behind on the river, as JJ is an obvious hand i put the villian on pre-flop. dont get greedy with the 5th nuts. hopefully villian has AA/KK or A10 K10

Actually I'm going over the hand and I think its a fold. A standard TA player will not cr here with AA/KK (hell, any good player will not CR with AA/KK). And I doubt he'll play bare trips this strong.
