The Yankees have Womack, Sierra, Martinez, Flaherty, and Crosby in the starting lineup today. Wow. That is bad.

And Brown has given up 6 runs in the first two innings. Forget what I said about Brown before. I think that he is done as a pitcher. I think that the Yankees will acquire a fifth starter ASAP.

I really hope that I am wrong.

I think instead they should move up one of their top minor league prospects such as Colter Bean.

No, we need him as a middle reliever.

I think that we should give Graman another chance. He has pitched well in AAA. It would help to have another lefty as well.

This game is painful to watch. We've gotten spanked by the O's in 2 series this season.

Maybe call Proctor up and have him fill the middle relief role. I'm just bouncing ideas around, but Sturtze filled in admirably as a spot starter last season.

Good idea! That's why we got him.

On a side note, why did we get rid of El Duque this year? We could afford to pay 6 million over 2 years for him. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have made the playoffs last year. And he is pitching well for the White Sox.

I'm a person who thought we should have started Duque in ALCS Game 7 last year on short rest instead of Brown.

I WISH WE HAD ORLANDO RIGHT NOW.

Yankees have some runs on the board. It's 6-3 in favor of the O's, but at least Brown has settled down in the last 4 innings.

Grand slam. 6-0 Orioles.

DAMN IT!!! STOP LETTING KEVIN BROWN PITCH!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

I say that we put Sturtze in the rotation. He does give up some runs, but he can throw strikes and he is a power pitcher. He's also a starter. Thoughts?

[/ QUOTE ]

People he was 4 innings into his season. It is not time to start looking for replacements. Give him 2-3 more starts.

This is why Dead is one of the 'stupid' sports fans. Every sports fan knows that 2-3 innings means nothing. Even 2-3 games means nothing for pitchers; all that takes is a spring training where the pitcher didn't get enough work. After stressing the long term in the Red Sox thread, Dead, perhaps you should be doing the same.

I know that, contentless. But I think Brown might have some mechanical problems.
