Could they have picked less inspiring presidents?

Put Teddy Roosevelt on a coin. Put Jefferson on another.

Why would you want to carry 20-30 dollar coins? Isn't that like carrying $5 in quarters now?

[/ QUOTE ]

does OP regularly carry 20-30 dollar bills?

We're moving away from cash money in general. More and more small purchases can easily be made with plastic. Coins are not gonna catch on.

Coins suck. I have 1 of my cupholders in my car filled with them for meters/tolls and other junk and big container at home. Cash them in once a year or so. They are only in my pocket until I dump them into one of these places.

Explain. To me, it seems pretty clear that with the effect of inflation you would want to replace low denomination bills with coins. Think about it - if quarters made sense as the cut-off in the past, then whatever the equivalent is in today's dollars should be the cut-off now.

Even more sensible would be a total elimination of pennies. If we needed to track transactions to 1/100th of a dollar 100 years ago, and a dollar is worth around 1/20th of what it used to be, we should be rounding to the nearest 5 cents now. The cost of producing pennies is a huge waste of time and money.

nothing really to explain...I don't like change. I have several bottles of change at home, buying something for $6 dollars paying with a $10) and getting 4 coins back is really annoying.
