This man was "arrested on suspicion of using violence or threats to prevent an officer from performing his duty and was charged with two counts of resisting arrest". I don't know what that means but it sounds like a loud mouthed protester.
Full story: http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-ex-beating110906,0,2761547.story?coll=la-home-headlines Video of cops beating dude while he's saying "i can't breath": http://youtube.com/watch?v=GVW5_PJHzR4 Yes this is a serious question as the comments seem to be pretty split on other news sources. |

WTF? Isn't that why they have pepper spray? I'm not an expert on police procedure, but I don't think pounding the dude in the face is standard.

If I think "overzealous protester" when watching this, I don't like it.
If I think "dude took a swing at a police" when watching, I enjoy it. |

i would love to get a few people, hold the cop down like hes a 10yr old getting a spanking, and give him a few (cum)shots to the face to see how he likes it |

What we see there doesn't look good. I would really like to see the rest of the video.

Based on the video, this is way too excessive. There are other ways to get someone to comply rather than putting a knee to his throat and punching him in the face. All the officer had to do was stand up, pull up on the guy's arm and drag him to make him go onto his stomach.
We don't know what happened before that, but in the article it says, "There is no denying that the video is disturbing," Bratton said. "But as to whether the actions of the officers were appropriate in light of what they were experiencing, and the totality of the circumstances, is what the investigation will determine." and that is what is really the truth. The "totality of the circumstances" is the key word. However, this is pretty excessive to any means. There are a lot more ways to make this guy comply. |

about 99.9% of police brutality videos I have seen, 1 thing they all have in common. When they try to put the cuffs on the badguy, THEY ALWAYS RESIST!
seriously, what is so difficult with letting the cops handcuff you? why do people not understand that when a man struggles to keep his hands from being handcuffed by a cop, he is not complying?? WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT?? |

Instead of cuffing him right then and there the cop decided to punch him in the face. I dunno about you guys but I really don't see how that's defendable. |
