Couple of "minraise sux" comments have been challenged here.
The main issue is that "villain is a good regular player". Making this bet with the nuts will give him info about you he can profitably use in the future. Min raise=nuts. You may say that you also do this with TPTK, a set, air to mix it up and disguise your min raises with the nuts. Hopefully you know why minraising is a bad idea in these spots. You offer good odds to draws and/or don't maximise your fold equity is the short version. What this means for making a minraise with the nuts is simply that you can't do it and ever mix up your play with min raises without giving away too much. Either you are making frequent exploitable plays or infrequent very readable ones. |

Would you adovacte calling. I would want a K high flush to get there. [/ QUOTE ] I either lead the flop going for a bet/3bet or if CRing I make it around 60. The nut flush is a real nice hand but I want the money in now while I can get it. The turn can bring a lot of cards that will either kill my action from a set/2 pair( a diamond) or slow me down (pairing the board), both players have shown willing to put money into this pot so I think at least one has a high diamond, if not a lower flush. I know we often think about slow playing when we have the nuts but a flush is just too hard to extract with against anything but a lower flush or a set, either of which will play now on the flop but may be scared away by cards yet to come. |

After 2 minutes of contemplating a call, I called the all-ins, because there was something that the villain said to me that triggered a previous hand with him in it. I dont remember what was said, but it was enough to make the call.
Villain shows QcQd Other Player just mucked The River was 9d Now the villain blind called preflop so therefore he never knew he had QQ until the the flop hit and he looked at his cards |

Against a "good regular" player a min-raise here sucks unless he thinks you are any good, in which case it will just confuse him. The reason it sucks is because that is exactly how every donk I've ever player with live plays his huge hands.
As it turns out he had a hand that he was probably gonna stack off with no matter what, so you got lucky (because he was pretty bad). Also, any heart on the turn probably kills or at least diminishes your action. Also, as played turn is an obvious call, glad it worked out for you. |
