Jason, you'll be making way more then poker at some stage in your life, and feel a hell of a lot better about it.

Also, I've only played part time, except for a brief 1 month period, I've never fallen out of love with the game ever. Every hand I log of poker is always enjoyed.

Strasser, without getting into my personal situation, thank you for helping me make up my mind about a very difficult (non poker related) situation.

Duck,

Please ask your friends to come on here and do a Q+A. I always see alot of people making comments like "oh yeah, you can make 7 figures trading in 2 to 3 years if know what youre doing", but ive never seen anyone on here say " I make 7 figures after 2 to 3 years of trading".

Jason,

The WSOP finishes and WCOOP win could not have come at a better time, eh? Your timing in poker seems to have been impeccable, I'm feeling like I can't catch a break right now. IMO, the last thing you should do in poker as a parting gift is make sure that you play someone on this board that doesn't respect you in some sort of massive HU challenge.

"one has a special deal with a small trading firm in chicago and gets something sick like 50% of his trades (which he does mostly with high net worth private clients) on top of some 200-300k ish salary i'm unsure of"

Can you please ask him to show how he got into this position after 2 years out of college? What did he do during his first year? What were his job responsibilities, what did he do to get into this position? Is his Uncle the Boss?

What isn't he sacrificing? The world's a big place.

That said, I think he'll do well on Wall Street and that of all his options he'll find it fulfilling and worthwhile etc.

Strass -- good work and good luck. You ever decide you want to stop trading and get in the thrilling cutthroat world of writing algebra quizzes, I can fast-track you.

i second this. i've worked for a hedge fund and have some knowledge of trading jobs in general, but making 7 figures in your second or third year is something I've never heard of.

as for strassa, i think it's great you are doing this if you are excited about it. personally, I hate the idea of doing what you are going to be doing, which I might be anyway but I still have a year before applying for real jobs, but I would love to do it if I was as excited about it as you semm to be.
