Basically, whichever 1 loss team wins the SEC championship game should go to the title game against the OSU-Michigan winner.

WVU/Louisville's argument for the NC is entirely dependent on how well they pwn up their schedule. If they do what Utah did in 04, they deserve it. If they play it too tight, they don't, and they probably won't get in the NC anyway.
This is shaping up to a very interesting season, and maybe a very good argument for a 4 team playoff. |

I think some of this depends on the nature of the games. Outside of this Cincy game, no one has been close at all to Louisville. Even though they're my least favorite team in the country, if they can continue to rampage through their schedule (and if they beat WVU handily), and some of the other 1 loss teams show strong signs of weakness (umm, USC?), I could see myself pulling for the cards.
Right now I'd pick a 1 loss team though. |

So here's what the title game contention looks like:
USC-Cal from the Pac-10. OSU-Michigan from the Big 10. Auburn-Tenn-Florida-LSU from the SEC, depending which teams survive and by how much. WVU-Louisville from the Big East. Texas from the Big 12 if they win out. It's pretty muddled right now, some games will clear things up. |

it's not muddled at all.
OSU and UM will win out. Michigan plays Iowa, who lost to indiana today, Ball state, Northwestern, and Indiana. no losses there. OSU plays the same cake schedule from here on out since they beat PSU, and Iowa already. Winner of that game, in the Championship for sure. If USC runs the table, they are in. If they lose, if WVU runs the table, they are in. After that, I'd pick the SEC champ if it's a 1 loss team.l |

I think you can safely remove LSU from contention. To win the SEC champ. they need to win the SEC west.
To do that, they'd need to pass Arkansas, and, more importantly, Auburn. Auburn has 1 SEC loss, LSU has 2 including to Auburn. For LSU to leap over Auburn, then, Auburn would have to find 2 more losses within Tulane, Ole Miss, Arkansas St., Georgia, and Alabama. I have trouble finding one, let alone 2 losses in there. (Also, LSU would have to go undefeated, which is possible but maybe difficultt with Tennessee still hanging around in there). |

TheHip, does your same reasoning for WVU apply for Louisville? That is, if USC loses and Louisville wins out (including WVU), then they'll play the winner of OSU/UM? I think the answer is yes, and if so, I agree completely with your post.

Yeah, your analysis is correct. LSU has a outside shot, but probably shouldn't be counted in, though they're as good as any SEC team.
I disagree with the above post, simply because I think MOV and how you win is so important. If Louisville or WVU just go in and win every game they have by 14+ points, and USC keeps skating by 7 or less, I think Louisville/WVU should be in. If Louisville/WVU skate, then you look at Cal or the 1-loss SEC team or Texas. I think it all depends on not just the wins/losses, but how the wins/losses happen. |

I wanna see Rutgers upset WVU and Louisville.
FWIW ND is going to demolish USC. I think a BCS Championship game of OSU/UM vs Rutgers would be hilarious. |
