I spoke with the management today to research this for you, and I quote "the room is completely legal, the club is run as a non-profit". The Poker Room Delaware has given us the OK to discuss their business on the B&M forum, as you know our policy is to check with the owners of private card rooms first to ensure their security if required.

bump . . .

Since I'm stopping in DE on my way down to NC this weekend. Also my google map search for the address on the webpage comes up with nothing.

Is this worth me checking out or is it like the NH Charity games with outrageous rake and badly structured cash games?

I found the address on Yahoo! maps. Not sure about the rake stucture, but it's only 1 hour from Baltimore so maybe I'll check it out tomorrow night...

It's $130 to play in a tournament if you preregister or $140 if you sign up at the door.

The prize pool for 50-59 players is $3500.

Do the math.

I don't see anything about their rake structure for cash games, they might be less absurd, I don't know.

based on the website, it looks like the tourneys are clipping almost 50% off the top. Sheesh.

No matter what they told you this is not a legal enterprise in Delaware. They'll get busted in Delaware just like they did in Baltimore (same guys).

Just FYI.

I'm pretty sure that this is not legal as well. I currently live in Wilmington, DE. There have been a couple of local charity tourneys run at fire stations, but I don't know if the prizes were cash prizes or other prizes. I may look into this cardroom, though I doubt it is operating within the realms of the law. Delaware does have racinos, a lottery, and a small gaming control board. Live action table games are not allowed at the racinos.

I assume that the managers of this club are in some way skirting the law. I will investigate more and report back here if I find anything of interest.

EDIT: I just noticed that this thread is months old, and the latest "tournament winner" posted on their site is from last December. Very odd...
