Planning on seeing it at some point this weekend. Many critics are calling it Scorsese's best work since Goodfellas.

It was a good movie that could have been great. It's no Goodfellas that's for sure. It had some of the worst editing I've ever seen in a decent movie. I think it should have been about 30 minutes longer, but they tried to shorten it while keeping in every scene. It was very choppy.

just came back from this movie, i am really happy that scorsase paid homage to infernal affairs by using a lot of the same scenes.

the ending of this movie while very similiar is very very different than the original and i am not sure if it skewed my thoughts on the departed or not, but i will just say i liked the original's ending better.

Is it just me or does it seem like this movie hasn't been getting a lot of publicity? I mean I didn't see ads/trailers for this till about a week ago. With a cast like that you'd think they'd have been talking about it a few months ago.

After paying Jack/DiCaprio/Damon/Wahlberg/Scorsese/music royalties...there wasn't any money left to market.

Haven't seen it yet, but this is what I was afraid of.

The ending of Infernal Affairs rocked.

In some ways the ending might be considered better. It just isn't as simple unfortunately. I definitely liked the original better. But this one wasn't exactly unbelievable. The thing I am shaky about is whether or not I like how the ending came...because they handled a certain character MUCH differently in the new one.

I've had the same all time favorite movie for 23 years, but from what I've heard so far about this one, I'm optimistic that it may be in contention.
