i say word alot too, but tend to say it in a sarcastic and usually far from serious way, when im just hanging around with friends. eg:

'hows that research going on the makenzie firm?'

'word'

i think its funny, but i guess only in the context of my group of friends.

i also know this crazy japanese guy who is famous for coming up with a new catchphrase every few months. he started with just saying 'oh snap' at like everything. then he moved on to 'deadly sniped' (ie his aces got cracked on the turn and he raised a big bet on the river - 'maaang, i got deadly sniped') and then 'yeah, keep on walking fella...keep talking bro'

i guess what really funny about it is they are fairly random comments that dont make much sense within the context of the conversation/situation. meh

Ever since I saw Fletch in 1985, whenever anyone drops anything noisily or otherwise makes a crashing sound, I always say "I'll get it..."

I should probably find something else.

I say "So it goes" a lot, probably from reading a lot of Vonnegut when I was younger.

"Klingt komisch, ist aber so" (non-germans obv. won't get that one, heck, even most germans won't get it).

As for speaking english, I overuse "cheers, hey/mate". It's my standard good-bye phrase.

"okeys"
"coolio"
"bish"

That's all I got. Am I missing the fun part of this thread?

"you'd think so, wouldn't you?"

sounds snobbish, but can be delightful when used in a self-depreciating context.

ex. "wow you've gone to some great schools. you're obviously very bright."

Whenever I am getting ready to go anywhere with anyone, I like to tell them in a dramatic voice, “take ONLY what you NEED to survive!”.
