I haven't done this yet. Paid for Larry the Cable Guy, The Benchwarmers, Scary Movie 4, The Wild, and The Wickerman recently, but since I was there to review them I couldn't just leave.
It's not often I stop DVDs without finishing them, but I did toss Ladder 49 after half an hour (boring), and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (five minutes, but also skipped ahead and realized I had made a grave, grave error). Should have listened to Maddox in the first place: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=disease |

The only movie I have ever walked out of was The Rookie, with Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen. It wasn't even necessarily that the movie was so bad, it just seemed like it was going to be pretty average, and my friend and I decided to duck out and go see Misery instead.
That was a good choice, because Misery is awesome. I wanted to walk out of Natural Born Killers and Jurassic Park 2: the Lost World, but I stayed till the very bitter end. |

I've never walked out of a movie; I always keep hoping it will get better, while figuring it CAN'T get worse, and am usually disappointed on both counts. But the one I wish I had was "Haunted Honeymoon" from 1986 or so. Gene wilder, Dom DeLuise, and some others. Truly a piece of cinematic crap.

Menage with Girard Depardieu. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092068/
In high school, my two friends and I went to see Blue Velvet at the little independent theatre in Kansas City. Unfortunately Blue Velvet had ended the day before, and now we had this lovely film about a trio of French house burglars--Girard's character and a married couple. Most of the plot consisted of Depardieu's character trying to get into the pants of the husband of the married couple. When it became obvious he was going to succeed we walked out. I drove my Camaro very fast on the way home cranking Van Halen. |

Crash. Not the recent one about racism, but the first one about car crash fetishists. Just a boring pile of crap.

I'd walk out of most of these movies, but I love "The Fifth Element" and "Haunted Honeymoon." Both are ludicrous in different ways. Fun.
The only movie I paid for and walked out of was "The Lawnmower Man." I went because I hadn't yet realized that most movies from Stephen King stories are crap - especially when the story was two pages long. I was like, 14 or something, and I'm sitting there going, this is a stupid movie. There's a bunch of others I would have walked out on, had I realized at the time how short life is. |

I never walked out of a movie, but I did fall asleep during Copycat.
I also wished I walked out of Troy- this was not my pick, but jesus, couldn't they have just paid each cast member $3,000,000 and left it at that? UltraViolet- Yes, I knew it would be horrible. The first half-hour was great. Irreversable- Well, I almost threw up, but that is another subjuct. Harry Potter- I have to learn to say no, sometimes. Sadly, I watched this the same night I watched Troy, one of the longest nights of my life, aside from the time I was in the hospital. StarShip Troopers- Was with way too many people, and I needed a ride home. The Matrix- I cannot tell anyone how much I hated this movie. Since I watched so many animes at the time, I did not find the plot or the characters to be "original" or "fascinating." Sorry, this was, IMO, the biggest rip off in the history of film. Glad the next two tanked. There was plenty of home vidies I turned off. For some reason, I do not tolerate **** on my TV: Domino, Shakesphere in Love, Star Wars Episode 1, Biker Boyz, as a short list. BTW, Nigmare Before Christmas is one of my all time faves, and I cannot wait to see the 3-D version at the El Capitan!!! |

Austin Powers - Just not funny. I actually walked out in the first fifteen minutes. I didn't get what it was parodying, and whatever it was it was done poorly. [/ QUOTE ] I walked out on your thread right about here. |
