probably not until after it is voted on, but maybe at about the same time. we're in the last hours here guys, from the looks of things. [/ QUOTE ] Last hours of this round, or last hours before the guy with the hood drops his ax? |

I know people hate analogies, but we've got a two outer here guys. It looks really, really bad. But nonetheless, it is never over until the bill passes, so hold out just a little while longer. Lobbyists flat out got beat today. Awful. [/ QUOTE ] Is there any chance this is the less bad Frist twist we have been hearing about? |

Are dems against banning online poker, or are they only against anything Frist is for, or non-germane stuff?

A lot still depends on the strength of the language inserted.
Sounds strong by the media report, but still never know. |

Would the lunatic fringe stop saying crap like "banning online poker". That's not what's going on here, and even if it's as bad as we expect, the world doesn't end tonight. Still likely months before anything actually goes into action.

From what I understand, its very possible that the language that's actually in this bill has many less teeth than the original that passed the House in June. Let's withhold judgement until we actually see the new law.
This could actually be a good thing in the long run, if the language is tame, as it will eliminate any real chance of passing the "end of the world" version for a while. |
