I've obliquely hinted elsewhere that a matriarichal approach to civilization would be the ideal state. That hardly means women should take over the planet. But people fail to recognize one basic tenet of biology sometimes. Without one, the other cannot exist.

There's no such thing as perfection, nor are there "perfect" relationships.

I enjoy cooking. I enjoy doing laundry. That's because of my upbringing. I associate the good things in my life with those things. So in a relationship, I'd willingly do those things. <shrugs>

I, however, also adhere to the principles of paterfamilias. That simply means, for me, if the battles outside the circle of our relationship require verbal or emotional force, I will do what's necessary for my family.

Also, I value the opinion of women far more than I do of men. I understand the principles of voluntary subservience for some of those who prefer their women that way. Forced subservience, no, not so much. And I think the conflict in this thread is simply one of perception along the lines this form of subservience takes.

We're a civilization in perpetual flux. And this is never going to change. What's apparent now in this day and age, there is increased cross-pollination in societies, and, well, that's going to anger different subsocieties.

<sighs> That's so Utopian, though, and, well. All I can do is do my part. For the greatest influence on Caesar wasn't his teachers or what he learned in warfare. It was a quietly dominant mother who he was never subservient to, and who he consulted last of all before he acted.

No, there wasn't a point to all this. Alas.

Tenn,

So this isn't the answer you were looking for?

Well welcome everybody to Willies place

You can pull up a chair or you can pull up my face

We got everything, the only thing that we lack is a rich young dumb
nymphomaniac

Chorus

I wanna rich youg dumb nymphomaniac

To drive me around in her cadillac

If she's not down on her knees she will be flat on her back

I wanna rich youg dumb nymphomaniac

we'll give her great big [censored] and a little bitty ass
a [censored] machine that never runs out of gas
a body like nobody's ever seen before
she recently inherited a liquor store

Chorus

well she doesn't wanna marry and she doesn't wanna fight
she doesn't give two [censored] if I stay out all night
I bring home another woman she just gives me a smile
we take off our clothes then we [censored] in a pile

Chorus

Make her a magic fingers mama that can roll up my doobs
the best in the west at cooking chinese food
she doesn't like to shop and she don't wear clothes
she always compliments me on the size of my hose

Chorus

we'll make her three feet tall
and stand about to here
with a flat spot on her head
so I can rest my beer

Chorus

You.

other answer: Someone who makes life better, who I can have random conversations with, who enjoys spending time with me as much as I enjoy spending time with them, someone I can find strength in and can find strenth in me, who will make you brave to new things and when we are together we grow as people. I like randomness a lot, I like a person who doesnt always rely on me for everything and can make suggestions of her own on what we are going to do. Who will support me when Im down and doesnt always expect me to be "fine." (vice versa) A girl who doesnt always have to go out and likes chill evenings as much as the crazy evenings. I like wit, intelligence, personality as much as I like great sex, probably more so.

Ive dated a lot of girls, I dont really date a ton ton anymore (well I guess that might be an eye of the beholder type thing as I do date around, but not as much, by choice), as I think I am wanting more of a relationship at the moment, but out of everyone Ive been with Ive only met one so far Id want to get old with. Kills me that I basically wasnt ready due to some love issues I had (baggage from a really bad break up in the past), and that I drove this one person away and even though we were together for almost two years I dont think I ever got the courage to open up to her completely until it was to late. She was as close to it as Ive gotten, and it was the hardest lesson Ive ever been through. But in the end, Im in a much much better place since I decided to work on my issues after realizing how much I truly loved her. The tactic of keeping one foot out of the circle, in order to not be hurt, is not an effective one and is self-fulfilling. Wish I could have met her earlier or later in my life, but because of her Im in a better place, so dunno.

anyway, I am not looking for perfect, just someone that makes me smile when I think about them (especially now that Im not up for holding back and want to invest more of myself into the relationship)

I would say whenever you think you've found the right one WAIT for at least 6 months more to make real sure.

Bottom line is what makes you happy? I hear people say so many differrent things but if you find a woman that makes you feel complete then that's it.

I've dated about every kind of woman out there. But who I've dated means nothing. Except don't comprimise anything about you or you'll end up miserable.

Its not so much what you're looking for, rather than what are repulsed by.

We all want a woman that looks like Cindy Crawford, sucks a [censored] like Jenna Jameson, cooks like Julia Child, and makes us feel good about ourselves like our parents are supposed to.

[/ QUOTE ]

True enough.
