Then I hope you find every man in Korea immature and emotionally inept, as well as most of the arab world, among others.

In much of the world, it is normal that the male is of higher status and authority in the relationship. Equality of the sexes is not universally accepted or 'right', it is just a matter of preference/culture.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm sure that the Arabs will agree with your stances on drinking and coke as well.

In other news, after living in a foreign country for a couple of months, internot poker whiz "Degen" has figured out exactly what all male members of the society want and how they think. In another astonishing turn of events, he has a similar epiphany about a totally different and unrelated culture.

The world reels with shock at his prescience and wisdom. "It definitely wasn't the coke!" he claims. New branches of anthropology are formed in his wake.

Next stop: Marital bliss!

I will take it a step further and say that many American women may even want to treat their man like this, or at least move in that direction, but do not for fear of retaliation from their peer group.

[/ QUOTE ]

you are VERY wrong on that one.

[/ QUOTE ]

i've spoken to some women who agree with what i said. i didn't say all, i said many. you don't think there are women in america who go career, independence etc for societal reasons? and they really just want to be a traditional woman?

[/ QUOTE ]

Id love to know what women youve spoken to, because they definitely arent a accurate representation of most american women. So they were either from southern utah, or apparently thai.

There is also a huge difference between forgoing a career to raise a family and the kind of woman who gets off on keeping a tidy home and "cooking his meals". That part is bolded because it is a very important distinction between the kind of women you are trying to justify your remarks about, and the kind of woman you actually want and mean in your earlier statement.

Both my grandmother and my mom were fulltime house wifes, and I have more than one friend who has chosen to stay at home and raise a family instead of working, every single one of them would be insulted by your statement.

I think it's hot when I meet women who can sort of match my (real-life) sarcastic humor. Which more or less means I get turned on when girls talk [censored] to me, and it doesn't sound forced/retarded.

Which got me thinking. Lots of posts are made on here about hot chicks, and cool chicks alike. I was simply curious as to what the OOTers look for in a chick. Not because I'm worried about finding a man.

[/ QUOTE ]

Let me just add to this that what most guys would list as traits they want in a woman and what they actually end up dragging home by the hair are two very different things. IMHO the things that cause an initial hookup seem to be fairly difficult to quantify and are largely dependent on circumstance, luck etc. The qualities we are talking about are the things that you look at down the road a little bit when you realize you're either miserable or you're not.

Also, I think true equals in a relationship are extraordinarily rare. There is ebb and flow but it is almost never a true equilibrium. I think in most successful longterm relationships each person tends to dominate certain areas, and you try to come out somewhere ok in the end.

when you said you didn't want an equal, I object to that. You don't want to equally support, love, desire and nuture your partner the way you want her to do for you. Because of that, I find you immature and emotionally inept.

Nice way to generalize there, all over the world Korean and Arab men nod their heads in approval. Saying that men and women have different roles in society is not immature and emotionally inept, saying that men > women is immature and emotionally (as well as socially) inept. Are you more willing to help a stranger out if it was a man versus a woman? Do you feel sorry for women out there who do choose to work? When you have a child (heaven forbid) and it's a daughter are you going to frown in disapproval? If any of those answers are yes, then I continue to look down upon you.

And in his statement he admitted he considers women a lower form of being than himself.

someone who gets me and my weird quirks
laughs at my jokes
someone who will coddle me

she must also have the same tastes as me
if she doesn't like or "get" Eternal Sunshine then bye-bye

she should like the office, seinfeld, south park, scrubs, jeopardy and reading

hopefully led zeppelin, fiona apple, neil young, and phish

open-minded, empathetic (this I don't see much of these days, even in my close friends)
