I have set up an excel map and have kind of just hit every spot over each new day, and with whatever moves i have left i pipeline in one long line. Eventually i will get around to adding some coordinates into ancients map.

You are MUCH better off mapping in a rectangular pattern, than in a long straight line!

Once you have an area mapped out, you should maximize your landing on mountain/deserted bases, during your attack runs!... and then use the remaining moves to expand your map each day.

I would be interested in posts about how everyone else is doing in the game, so we can evaluate strategies!...

I have kept my attck at 1 and have gotten my fort up to 5. I can raise about $10-$15 per 600 moves without using a map. If I was to us a map I'm sure I could do $30 as I have transport 3 and can move 4 spaces at a time if needed. So I should be able to plan to hit a money square on everymove. But I have been lazy and have not mapped enough plus I don't even use the map info I have already. It just takes to long and is more fun to wander around and quickly burn off my moves.

I can't seem to get enough money for my fort 6 upgrade without getting hit. So then I spend my remaining money because I expect them to return for more the next day but often I realize if I had just pushed ahead and used my maps properly I could have stole enough to upgrade easy. I am lazy basically but I'm having fun this way atm.

I plan on laying very low on these last few days of the month. I expect to get hit lots and I want everyone that hits me to get very little money so I don't get on the list of places for them to hit everyday. Then during the first part of Feb I will make a push to upgrade. This plan might be more based on the fact that I want a break from the game for a few days. lol

I think one area that I have overlooked as far as alliance planning goes is a wanted list and good target list. We need a list of people that have attacked our members and how often they attack. And we need to really hunt these people down. Not because it will make them stop hitting us but because it should be good fun. Several people have shared good bases to hit but we need to keep a running list so all the information is easy to get at for all members. These ideas all take lots of work by someone to make them happen. I would like to say I would do it but I really don't think I would keep it up over the long haul. I might try the wanted list thing though as I think it becomes more and more important as we go.

Several of our members are and have been under constant attack and I'm sure they feel like we are not even trying to help them out. We need a list of who to look for and we need to post the locations of these people when we find them. It might take weeks or months but we will find them if we remember who to look for.

Thanks to MissOt for most of these ideas, I'm going to try and help make this work but I often lose my focus on record keeping stuff. lol

Also I plan on disbanding all members that don't have 4 upgrades by the 30th of January. If this affects you PM me the reasons you can't get 4 upgrades and I'm sure I will understand and leave you in.

Just checked the Orly alliance thread on offtopic.com

SaintGRW 89 S - 84 W he has a fort of 1 btw

This guy just joined up and he made the mistake of sharing his location he also said he has like $3 atm. Not much but they think they are under attack by some other alliance atm already. I say everyone hit him just to mess with their heads. lol I'm going to hit him once before midnight and once after. Dogpile people! I will post screen shots of his reaction if it is good.

My thoughts...

We are not truly using the power of OOT numbers... we really need to get as many people as possible to play the game for a few days, map out a chunk of the map, build up Security and then simply report their mapping to Ancient, and post here who is attacking/spying on them (to help narrow down where people are, like a listening post).

With a more complete map, the active players could then truly rule!... and attack en-mass any alliance.

How much has been stolen from you so far stuey?

$12.29 Stolen from me one guy hit me for $10 worth of that though. I have been getting attacked an average of 2 times per day. But at times no one attacks for up to 2 days then they all come at once. It is usually different people I have a few regulars but they don't come everday. Up till that last guy I was super careful and never had more than $1 in my base for people to take. I had over $30 that day and was close to upgrading my fort (level6 is 39.95 as you know). He hit and I spent what was left on a transport upgrade. Shortly after he hit I got hit by 3 or 4 other guys but then got less than .10 each as I had cleaned house. That is the main reason I am planning to lay low for a few days. Like feeding a dog from the table once you do it once they always come back for more.

I'm not complaining though tons of other people get attacked way more often than I do. But the way I see it we are 6 months behind most of the good players on here so why rush to try and catch up. I'm going to take my time and observe what happens near the end of this month then make a plan for the next month based on what I learn.

I don't think we can dominate this game but we can have fun and get some laughs out of it for sure. Mapping is a good idea but I don't see us mapping the whole thing. A good usable map for me only needs 2000 targets or so. The trick is to ensure the targets are currently active. So the map will need to be updated often. Mapping makes my head hurt even though I know it is important.

Go hit that noob from offtopic I wana see what he posts in their thread after he gets cleaned out on his first day. lol I want them to think they are being watched because they are.

Ralph100 was the guy that hit me but I don't really want revenge hell I only have attack1. If I find him I will share his location so the high attackers can hit him as active players always have the most money up for grabs.

I still have yet to be successfully attacked. I have a few guys who come by and check my security once in a while, but don't attack.

With a good map it may be possible to do an attack run of high FT bases across the entire map!
With a few attackers, we would quickly dominate.

I personally have mapped 15% of a quadrant in 2 weeks.

Luled into a false sense of security by rarely being attacked, I had started accumulating cash... after this mega-attack I started upgrading again! (Notice how fast he came back)...
