I'm curious, which aspect of this situation do people suspect might cause Paradise to crumble and freeze our funds? I don't really get it.

I mean I definitely cashed out... but I still don't get it.

same? When the other sites decided to no longer allow US players did people not get their money back?

are you the internet police?

have YOU bothered to do a seach before calling this poster a liar or are you just some kind of high school debater?

http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id...ti_transit.xml
(transit passengers to have passports screened on arrival due to terror threat)

http://www.tsa.gov/press/happenings/threat-change.shtm
(post recent London bomb threats all flights from UK to submit full passeneger manifests for US pre-screening before gate departure in UK)

from the above it appears quite clear that the legislation and procedures enacted as part of the 'war on terror' enabled (or at least made far easier) this guy's arrest..

there is also the possibility that the US authorities would be able to extradite execs of gaming companies from the UK without showing due cause under new 'anti-terror' fast track extradition agreements if they rely on tax evasion (which is an offence both in UK and US) rather than framing it as 'online sports/casino/poker betting' (as none of those are offences in the UK)

they recently used this to extradite 3 UK bankers connected with Enron (even though Enron has nothing at all to do with 9/11)

The natives are restless, I guess. I had cashed out a few days before this happened, but I'll probably be back for the next reload bonus. The end may be near, but I don't think it's here yet.

Betonsports has still frozen US player's balances over a month after the CEO's arrest from what I've read. A lot of sportsbooks/poker sites (including Party) do not hold as much cash on their balance sheet as they have customer deposits so a run on them could theoretically bust them, even Party. However, Sportingbet is a much, much bigger company than Betonsports with a much wider customer base outside the US so I do think any risk to deposits is minimal, especially as the charges are only at state level and not federal level. Just thought people should be aware that there is a risk.

I think you boys to the south underestimate how relaxed we are compared to the US. Not a politician up here who has expressed a concern about internet gambling. Nobody cares about smoking a little weed either. What's with the political agenda down there? There are so many other things to worry about. Such priorities are an embarrassment to liberty, an insult to the forefathers of freedom, your very forefathers. It's nothing less than a communist agenda sneaking in your back door. Land of the free no more.

"Bored, fat women who've nothing better to do than nag their men about the way other people live. Bored fat men who've nothing better to do than try to remove the splinter from my eye before removing the plank from their own."

BRILLIANT! The Nanny State in a nutshell.
