Seriously, InternetJunky, what happened to the cat? I feel for the dog too, don't get me wrong, that's brutal, but i'm suspecting the worst with this cat.

People that get those tiny lap dogs are often looking for a cat with less independence. They're only a small notch above cats on the crappy pets scale.

If they previously got along well, you may consider taking the cat to the vet also. This could be because the cat is having some issues and is in a lot of pain or something (it's often very hard to tell if a cat is not doing well)
