[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I have Carson Palmer, LT, and Kevin Jones as my 3 starters, with Culpepper as backup. He wants to give me Edgerrin James and David Givens for Palmer. 1pt/50 yds passing 1pt/20 yds rushing 6pts/passing/rushing TD Thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] rather than take david givens and gain what is likely to be a small measure of depth at WR (you will need to drop someone, right?), i think it would be better to try to give him Palmer and a decent WR (say your second or third starter) in return for Edge and a better WR. [/ QUOTE ] Well here are my WRs: TO, Donte Stallworth, Darrell Jackson, Braylon Edwards, and Marty Booker. Play 3 each week. He has Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Nate Burleson, Matt Jones, and David Givens. I think I will drop Booker and take his deal. If I offer him a receiver, which one do I give up, and which one do I get? I am considering offering TO for Johnson, but Im not sure he will go for that. Stallworth will hopefully have a good year in Philly, and Edwards in Cleveland. Jackson is a good one to have IMO as long as hes healthy. If he wont part with Johnson, his #2 pick in the draft, I think Wayne is about on the same level as Jackson and Stallworth will hopefully be. Then I would still have Edwards and Givens in case they turn out to have great seasons this year, which Im hoping Edwards does. I guess what Im trying to say is that I wont get a better receiver in return for offering him one. Stallworth and Jackson are projected to have as good as seasons as Wayne. Stallworth had a better year last year than Wayne. Jackson had a decent year last year until he was hurt, so if he can stay healthy he could be better than Wayne too. Thanks for your reply. |

[ QUOTE ]
all, i have: Clinton Portis, Fred Taylor, Deuce McAllister, Kevin Jones, Reuben Droughns and Ben Watson. I want to trade Deuce for Chris Cooley, drop Ben Watson to waivers and pick up TJ Duckett to start Week 1. Seem reasonable? Also trying to trade Kevin Jones and Deoin Branch for Warrick Dunn and Micheal Clayton. Goot? [/ QUOTE ] Its looking like thats going to be a good trade, since Branch is likely out until week 10. If Branch plays, then Im not a big fan of the trade. I think Jones is going to have a good season this year, but without Branch playing, its a good trade for you. As far as your other trade, I like Cooley over Watson, and having Duckett as insurance for Portis is a good idea. Deuce may or may not have good numbers this year, depending on how much Bush plays. |

vetman,
the thing is im so deep at RB and only play 2 each week, and deuece is certainly no better than kevin jones, warrick dunn or fred taylor (unless he seriously owns this year), so i figure may as well upg somewhere else. |

Is it impossible to trade a kicker for a position player?
10-team good Yahoo private league, and one of the guys who I've done many fair trades with didn't draft a kicker, while 4 others teams took two (including me, had to autodraft after rd. 11, stupid computer). He has 3 handcuffs and a split-carrier on his bench (Turner, Toefield, Maroney, Addai). Is it an insult to offer him someone like John Kasay for Toefield? |

[/ QUOTE ] I may be in the minority but I don't like Cooley over Watson. And I think you can get by the first week just playing Jones & Droughns at RB; especially given Duckett's running style and the Vikings monsterous defensive tackles. Jones/Branch for Dunn/Clayton sounds good though. |
