[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Bigger pet peeve for me is when a guy calls for a new setup... [/ QUOTE ] I HATE THIS! Damn superstitious morons that blame the cards, the dealer, and everyone but themselves for their dwindling stack. The only time a setup should be requested is if there is possible card marking going on. That is legitimate, but that is about 1% of the time. [/ QUOTE ] I wish an early death to every old man that calls for a set up as soon as he starts to run cold. The seat thing only bothers me when the dealer has already called for a player but there is no board, but the player starts freaking out cause the seat has been open for 10 min. I have much bigger pet peeves that this. 1. The old man next to me mumbles or hums for hours straight. (I don't use an Ipod obviously) 2. The old man next to me complaining about the cards he is dealt and tellling me bad beat stories while I'm in a hand. 3. People who listen to music so loud that they can't tell whats going on, and they constantly pull the earpiece out and ask what is going on. I can't even imagine how bad this could get in NL where the bet sizes vary. Ok so I could probably think of more but I'll end the rant here. HASS |

[ QUOTE ]
I agree that calling for a set-up is much more annoying, it's almost never a good player, and usually someone who just happened over from the blackjack tables or the slot machines. It just slows up the game and wastes time. [/ QUOTE ] Or the idiots who contantly ask for the deck to be scrambled before they go into the shuffle master.... give me a break.. there is no difference in scrambling them and then having the machine shuffle them, or just stuffing them into the machine... quit slowing the game down even more! |

[/ QUOTE ] Foxwoods does this as a matter of procedure -- a single riffle each hand before inserting the cards. It's not too bad. I would certainly get peeved in a $5/hh game if someone were asking for an occasional complete wash. |

A guy last night asked for each deck of the 2, to be completely washed 3 hands in a row (total of 6 straight washes). The dude was a complete donator, so I tried not to ruffle the feathers....but alas, I ended up donating more than him |

How about sitting out without leaving the table and asking for a new setup without being dealt in? Happened at Commerce a few weeks ago in a 7cs game. I also hate the player who sits down and asks for a new setup after a few hands.

I see your point and agree. However I also feel it's frustrating if the specific card club is very un-organized and/or lazy. They should keep on top of that.

I'll take an "open seat" cop next to me anytime over a guy who's gone a few days without washing his ass or his mouth. That can make for a long, disgusting session.

My major issue with the open seat problem at Foxwoods (it's been a while since I've been there) is after waiting up to four hours for a seat, the last thing I want to see are empty seats, 'cause it makes me wonder if my wait wasn't just made longer by lazy floor staff.
In reality, probably not enough to worry about, but even still, it's like seeing empty tables in a restaurant at the same time they're telling you it's going to be a 45 minute wait. That, and I'd often like a new buffer between me and the grumpy old nit who's constantly berating the dealer and other players because they're interrupting his reading the newspaper. |

Some places, like MGM in vegas will have a basic control panel, and the dealer can simply press a button which alerts the desk of what seats are open at which tables. Obviously most casinos dont have this nice feature.
