I get NY Giants defense and give up Carolina's defense, straight up.
IMO it's a wash. Benefit to me is I'm a big Giants fan and I wanted their defense pretty bad. The current owner tried to get me to give up too much for the Giants, but now he's offering this trade. Downside I can see is the Giants have a harder schedule than the Panthers. Thoughts? ScottieK |

I don't think the Panthers are that much better then the Giants but they are better defensively. Offensively I also think they have improved. On most mocks they have the Panthers going around 78 (espn) and the Giants around 114 (espn) but the Giants 1st team has looked good. I wouldn't say it's a wash but I think he got a slight advantage fantasy wise.

Yeah, it's hard to evaluate the Giants D since there's a bunch of new players....good players, but they haven't been battle-tested as a group yet. It's a free league, so money's not on the line....but I like to play to win anyways. If it's just a slight advantage, I'm probably willing to do it anways just so I can have the Giants D on my team.
I didn't get any Giants in the draft besides Sinorice Moss, a total flyer (and it was kind of a joke). I also picked up Brandon Jacobs later as a backup...no one else was really available, and he's a touchdown thief...so he'll work for a week if I need him. Just wanted a reality check on this trade....thanks! ScottieK |

Upon hearing that Chris Brown is the official starter in Tennesee (I have Travis Henry) (thanks for the info BWebb!), I'd like to secure a more reliable #2 RB, and was thinking of making a trade for Reuben Droughns. Sure, he's not a very glamorous trade target, but he seems pretty solid and I feel like I could make a good deal with the team that owns him.
Here's my team: QB: Carson Palmer (CIN) QB: Drew Brees (NO) QB: Philip Rivers (SD) RB: LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) RB: Deuce McAllister (NO) RB: Cedric Benson (CHI) RB: Travis Henry (TEN) WR: Marvin Harrison (IND) WR: Donald Driver (GB) WR: Keenan McCardell (SD) WR: Eric Moulds (HOU) TE: Jason Witten (DAL) K: John Kasay (CAR) DST: Seahawks Here's his team: QB: Michael Vick (ATL) QB: Byron Leftwich (JAC) RB: Reuben Droughns (CLE) RB: Rudi Johnson (CIN) RB: Marion Barber (DAL) RB: Clinton Portis (WAS) WR: Darrell Jackson (SEA) WR: Derrick Mason (BAL) WR: Michael Clayton (TB) WR: Isaac Bruce (STL) WR: Anquan Boldin (ARI) WR: Dallas Clark (IND) WR: Jay Feely (NYG) DST: Redskins Now obviously, I think I should try to help out his QB situation while making this deal. I just offered him Travis Henry & Drew Brees for Reuben Droughns and Michael Clayton, but that was just an introductory offer to see if he has any interest at all, so I'm not really holding my breath for this offer to get accepted. Can anyone come up with a FAIR offer (all trades must be voted on by owners) that would help out both teams? This is for a standard Sportsline 12-team league. Thanks |

Someone in our league is looking to shop Portis, not sure why. But he is looking for another RB and something else. I am kind of thin on second RBs, here is my roster
QB: Matt Hassleback QB: Kurt Warner QB: Trent Green RB: Tiki Barber RB: Julius Jones RB: Chester Taylor RB: Thomas Jones RB: Ahman Green WR: Torry Holt WR: Steve Smith WR: Eddie Kennison WR: Santana Moss TE: Chris Cooley TE: Kellen Winslow DEF: Tampa Bay No kicker yet because they are easy to pick up, and I wanted to secure a bunch of RBs so I'd have more time to make a decision. He said he is interested in probably only Taylor, and I would probably throw in Kennison if I can swing that deal. How high should I be willing to go to make this trade happen? I kind of wanted to hang on to Ahman Green because I think he will be a big steal from the 13th round. I only got Trent Green as trade bait in the last round, and have a couple offers on him, but he may go in this deal as well |

I have Carson Palmer, LT, and Kevin Jones as my 3 starters, with Culpepper as backup. He wants to give me Edgerrin James and David Givens for Palmer.
1pt/50 yds passing 1pt/20 yds rushing 6pts/passing/rushing TD Thoughts? |

all,
i have: Clinton Portis, Fred Taylor, Deuce McAllister, Kevin Jones, Reuben Droughns and Ben Watson. I want to trade Deuce for Chris Cooley, drop Ben Watson to waivers and pick up TJ Duckett to start Week 1. Seem reasonable? Also trying to trade Kevin Jones and Deoin Branch for Warrick Dunn and Micheal Clayton. Goot? |

[/ QUOTE ] rather than take david givens and gain what is likely to be a small measure of depth at WR (you will need to drop someone, right?), i think it would be better to try to give him Palmer and a decent WR (say your second or third starter) in return for Edge and a better WR. |
