Default Tricky Live $400NL Hand

The game is NL with a capped buy in of $400. The blinds are $5 and $10. The game is very laggy. I have not played very many hands and my image is that of a solid player. Most of the players at the table respect my play. Late middle position opens for $40. Cut off calls, button calls, hero calls in the BB with 10 10, 2 other players call. 6 to the flop for $240. Hero is short stacked with only $260 behind, the remaining players all have at least $600. The flop is 833. Which of the two lines do you like and why or why not?

1) Moving in in front of everybody. I most likely have the best hand and will probably take down the $240 right there.

2) Checking with the hopes that the pre-flop raiser will bet a hand like AK so that I can check-raise all in and get maximum value for my hand. The only problem with this is if it gets checked around and an A,K,Q or J hits the turn I will most likely have to abandon the hand given that I am against 6 opponents.

I appreciate all thoughts and alternative lines.

Given the laggy game and your solid image at the table.

If you want to push your stack on the flop, I would have pushed preflop after cutoff raised and 2 callers behind. I don't think he could call it without KK or AA. Most likely, you could take the pot right there. Don't move in with overpair on 833 board with 6 players.

I probably choose the second option to see how the action develops.

I would tend to agree, open pushing all in will only get a call from someone who has you beat. Someone with a big pair, 88 or a 3 will call, usually everything else will fold. You need more info before you can put the rest of your stack in.

don't sit short in this game the buyin is short enough already

i just shove preflop ... you'll win the same amount that you're likely to win on this flop without worrying about outflopping three other guys.
