I just talked to an accountant who was refered to me by a family friend who basically just told me that because:

a) it's unregulated
b) it's offshore
c) i never gave Party my social security #
d) i am not getting a 1044 (i think...some tax form i should get at the end of the year if i were at a regular job)

that the gov't can't tell where the money is coming from and as far as they know can be 'inheritted' money, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

In order to cash out more then 10K from Party you have to give them your SS# or a copy of your ID. At least that was the case for me.

idk, it seemed like it made sense to me. isn't this exactly why they want to ban/regulate online gambling? because they CAN"T TAX IT????

i mean how are they supposed to know exactly where it's coming from? is there any way to claim the money as something other than gambling profits to reduce the taxes?

Not paying taxes is hugely neg ev IMO. If you go ahead and pay and invest them money it will be worth more in 40 years then untaxed uninvestible money.

i saw this link a few times here before and they seemed competent
www.rbstaxes.com

your family's friend's accountant must not know anything about the actual tax code, or doesnt care about giving advice that goes against it.

While a good accountant can help you file your taxes to save yourself the most money, its not like they are going to be able to work magic. You owe what you owe, the only way to reduce it drastically is either doing something illegal, or filing incorrectly.
