[ QUOTE ]
so, is that another way of saying "you're right but i'm too stubborn to admit my mistake"? if so, i understand. [/ QUOTE ] Right about what? You haven't made a point about anything. You're too simple too understand that you said, "good luck finding a poker game where luck isn't a big factor." And I said, well, practically any online poker cash game. And then you retort with something about a single tournament. Pardon me if you were making the captain [censored] obvious point that in a single tournament luck will play a big factor. I made that point in another thread, talking about max entries, where the winner of a HUGE tournament will inevitably have an astounding lucky streak, and that maybe we're finally seeing what the inevitable winner of all these big field events will have. It couldve been a reasonable discussion if you weren't such a [censored] e-creep. |

Before this goes any further. I do want to state one time before going any further that I am ONLY talking about from a poker point of view. I have all the compassion in the world for a guy who's Dad has an incurable disease, and is going to help contribute to that cause. [/ QUOTE ]Actually from reading your title, I thought you were going to post that you think he is the least skilled guy to ever win the WSOP. |

LOL at OP for suggesting that someone like Sabyl Cohen would have been better for the growth of the poker industry than Jamie Gold. [/ QUOTE ] I think that would have been cool, because I know Sabyl. |

[ QUOTE ] When you end up having to defend yourself to this many people, it's a good bet that you could have expressed yourself a little more clearly in the first place. [/ QUOTE ] Frankly I think it's a better sign that a lot of people on this forum can't read/reason. His points were pretty straightfoward. I don't really agree that Gold will be a bad thing for poker, but there's something to be said that somebody else might have been more optimal from a marketing persective. [/ QUOTE ] Well said. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Anyone old [/ QUOTE ] I take offense. Poker point of view or not. Enough bracelets are being taken down by young cocky hot shots. Poker is about more than having the fearlessness and in-exhaustable energy of a 26 year old college drop-out. Life experience and maturity are very fine qualities, and claiming it would be "-EV" for poker to see them take the high seat for once is little short of ludicrous. [/ QUOTE ]The majority of new players to the game today are younger people. Therefore to attract more of these people it'd be better to have a younger guy in the spotlight. I don't see what there is to take offense at here. |
